I assume the handguards are made for a different bike can you tell me the year, make and model of the bike they are for? Did you have to modify them much? Thanks for the info.

put them on my '04 and just put them on my '08. a total of $75 and a half hour easy install. a bit of dremel work but it makes sense when you try putting them on.
and a quick hint as an FNG...use google and forum searches to find things then you can get clarifications from the board.

I have that exact bag. (the one attached to your passenger seat) I haven't attempted to put mine on yet.

Thought you all might like to see some "after" shots of how I have modifed the '08 that I picked up in Phoenix on 12/8/07. Although farkling is never really done, at least this is all that I plan to do in the near future. I am thrilled how it came out. Did it all myself, but without the info from this forum and FJRTech, it couldn't have happened. Thank you!
Here's an overview:
In this frontal view you can see the Motolights and maybe glimpse the Superbrace. For sure you cannot see the Magnum Blaster horns...but you can sure hear 'em!
Here's a close-up showing the carbon fiber alternator cover, frame sliders, and the Wild Bill foot pegs:
Tank bag, Airhawk cushion (medium Cruiser), cord for StarCom1 Digital mounted unde the rider seat. Also you may see the switch for the Motolights that I mounted on the little removable insert in dash Panel A. The Motolights come with their own wiring harness including the switch and relay. I tapped into an apparently unused connector that became visible when I removed the left side fairing for switched power so the lights always go off when I turn the key off. Once the key is on, then I can control the lights via the switch. I also have installed the Blue Seas fuse block under the seat. It gets power from a fused relay assembly that I made up. The power for the relay comes from a tap into the RH running light and the fuse block itself is then powered via a 30 amp fuse in the line going to positive battery terminal. I have three 2 amp fuses in the Blue Seas protecting the wiring going to the StarCom, a Kenwood BTB radio, and a Midland CB radio. There's a 15 amp fuse protecting the Gerbing power outlet.
The Motofizz bag may be temporary, since I ordered the Yamaha trunk with the bike but they are not yet available. On the other hand, although I think it kinda looks dorky, the Motofizz is darn useful and big and roomy and I may keep it. I also have the dual helmet locks by the license plate and, of course, there's a road gremlin bell too.
Escort Passport 8500 X50 radar detector, Zumo 550 with the XM radio/weather receiver antenna, and Bluetooth cell phone hook up. I had the Zumo on my 2005 FJR but the audio output was wired through a Mix-It2. The phone never worked well. I could hear OK but the people I talked too had a lot of trouble reading me. Now, with the StarCom all is perfecto! I have also disabled the automatic windscreen retract and made it so the glove box lid can open at anytime.
I installed a single Powerlet BMW plug for battery charging and for use with heated clothing. Then I got the bright idea of using the Gerbing plug for myself, so now the BMW plug can be used for passenger clothing -- although my wife rarely rides with me, and especially not it it's cold! -- so it will probably only serve for convenient battery tending.
I do not mean to come across as bragging. I am just very blessed that at this time in my life -- almost 63 -- I am in a position to both buy and modify such a great machine with such delightful add-ons!

Tom, what is the plug on the side of lower mid cover? left side under seat? communicator?
