How I Spent My Summer Vacation... (WFO5 & Beyond)

I made the WFO reservation back in October because I knew I was going to come out. Finally convinced my BMW riding bud Gary to go with me in June.

This is Monday, O'Dark Thirty, before WFO5.

Here we are leaving Wendover UT/NV, WFO5 in 5 hours!

Here is the frontal shot of the pavillion full of FJR's.

My favorite license plate, a Canadian with a good sense of humor.

Of course we spent hours looking at every bike to see what farkles there were and to ask questions of the owners. This wind deflector was something that was totally new to me, evidently it's from the Goldwing world. Think I'm gonna try a set...

Part 2

Here is the pavillion from the back looking forwards. Sure were alot of FJR's !

Here's Duff trying to get the hang of the Throttle Body Sync technical appratus...

We're now starting experiment #34, a throttle body sync on Odot's FJR. That's Odot with the RUSH hat.

Here's Flowback demonstrating proper TBS adjustment technique to fjrchik, with Duff reading the meter to tell Flowback how many more 'adjustments' are necessary. Notice fjrchik's look of concern for Odot's machine...

Here's the Radman, a few hours after winning the prestigeous Man-Boob contest. He's getting ready to run a cart on the slick track. Boy did we all have fun with those go carts !

After he got lapped at the slick track, Rad was asked by a bystander just what his technique was for winning the contest. He had had more than a few, so it seemed easier for Rad to just demonstrate his winning form...

Gary doing nav work. Unfortunately, it's Sunday morning, time to go. We said our goodbyes & shared a few final laughs, then to ride over to the Kali coast above San Fran

Here we are just over the Kali border on Rt 80.

Now we're on Route 1, the coast road, going North.

'Tame' part of Route 1. Didn't want to stop in the middle of the twisties to take a photo, can't trust the cagers...

Later, going over to the Point Reyes Lighthouse, Gary says "We should be there already!"

Hi honey, just thought I'd call to see how you were doing. You won't believe this, but the cell works in the middle of nowhere !

On the road to go to Fort Collins, to see my Dad who is 93 & still pretty spry. He is in the middle of painting his rancher, much to the dismay of my oldest sister.

Colorady flatlands, going East on Route 14 from Fort Collins. There was some serious wind, a few lane changing gusts, boy were the big trucks having fun !

I saved this one picture to represent the thousands and thousands of fields that we passed going out and back. I'm sure you all have seen quite a few of them too...

Home at last...

Last but not least, many many thanks to the WFO organizers & support folks ! Thank you for helping me have a very memorable summer vacation !

Great pictures. Glad you had so much fun but I wish you hadn't posted those photos of Hwy 1. That's our "little bit of heaven" in Norcal. I'm sure it isn't as much fun or as challenging as "The Dragon, so all you Easterners stay put!

Looks like it was a great ride. Hopefully next years will be a little closer to the east coast. Now if you want to ride some hills head over to Boone NC for the EOM next month.

I love the pics of the blue water (musta been a mermaid in a past life!)!! I'm so drawn to it! Great job on these shots. I swear I will get out there someday and ride all the way up the coast. Tahoe was just one part of my dream....
