Did the obligatory search, nothing found. So....has anyone used either of these? And how do they differ in operation if anyone knows. I know how the manicsalamander works, just not sure of the throttlemeister operation. They are similar in price but still expensive (compared to a Vista Cruise.) Advantage to me would be the weight to cut vibes that are putting my throttle hand to sleep.
You didn't try too hard now did you.
Try searching Google like this: <site:fjrforum.com vista cruise>, that'll get some good hits, like the one here.
Vista Cruise etc.

I have a much cheaper and simpler suggestion. Give the GoCruise a try. It's only $20 and from my experience as effective as the Manic Salamander. Yet safer, in my opinion. Very easy to override. As an AE owner, I realize that I just can't pull in a clutch to control a stuck throttle. Don't ask me how I know, it resulted in a near disaster and I went down in a sandy parking lot.

Bob ~ Not meaning to be a smart-ass, but why would you have had your throttle lock engaged while in a sandy parking lot?
Gunny!
Maybe it's just me but I'd never use a throttle lock on city streets and definitely not a small parking lot. But that's me I'm a little cautious. I never had an issue ever returning to off throttle with the locks on. Granted in a panic things happen quick and forgetting this could lean towards some issues of why said bike is still going fast compared to no TL on, just sayin'.
**Edit** Bob - I see we posted at about the same time, I understand.
I have had all three and now use two in combination.
1) MS (cost $125) -
Pro: Love the fact the bar ends are heavy and it's only a quarter turn!
Con: It didn't really grip that well for me no matter what I did including milling down the main insert to bring it closer in to the grip. Road vibration on the freeway concrete expansion joints jolted out of grip quickly.
2) TM (cost $135?) -
Pro: Works better than SM.
Con: Still slipped out of good grip over time on the freeway, not much time at that. Hated turning the thing, still do, but I'm used to it. Reminds me of my Beemer TL.
3) Vista Cruise (cost $20) -
Pro: Works pretty well, using the skooterG method (link above), you can give it throttle and it'll be pretty much at the same spot again.
Con: Still slipped out of grip over time.
4) I know have a TM and VC. works great! I use the Vista for extra security to grip, bought it with both that way too. Thought it odd at first, but now I like it! I can easily turn the grip to shut the throttle no problem with both applied.
$ for $ I'd say try a Vista Cruise.
Good luck in your quest.
