good morning one and all:

I just shlepped through the new issue of SF Weekly (the free weekly paper in San Francisco) and saw an ad for a local dealership that purports to have 2005 models for sale.

The dealership is Bay Area Yamaha in San Mateo.

The link is https://www.bayareayamaha.com/Home.htm

I'm not plugging their dealership, but they are advertising the 2005 Feejer for $13499 out the door. The ad does not mention that these are ABS models, so I'm thinking they are indeed NOT.

But what stunned me is that I thought Mamma Yamma sold out of the 2005 all around the country.

Maybe the best way to but a bike these days (even one so glorious and highly sought-after), is to wait until early fall to save a few thousand buckaroonies.

And BTW, I hope this posting does not infuriate the web furies on duty this fine day, who might write back that this belongs in the "classified" section.

Hey, at least I'm not discussing varieties of motor oil !

Tigress, did you happen to see elsewhere on this site, Yamahamotorsports in Texarkana is offering 06 model for 11,995.00.

A lot of dealers ordered extras under employee names and I think most who wanted one got in on the PDP so dealers ended up with FJRs sitting on the floor!

the yammie dealer here in knoxville TN ( Alcoa good times) has a few still crated up.

6 months ago they would no go down from MSRP and admitted that the warranty started ticking away the day they arrived at the warehouse, not the day you purchase it ( they were going to cut me a deal on the YES)...

Sounded kinda fishy, so I went to Ebay.. I trusted that place more

Dayem. Those are some rock bottom prices. They must be trying to move them quick in anticipation of the new & improved 06s.

Here's my prophesizing, not that I am any damn good at it:

03-05 FJRs will take a 20% hit in their value over the next year due toe the new & improved model. Within a year you should be able to pick up a nice, low mile, 04 or 05 FJR in the $7000 - $80000 range.

$80k, eh? Such a deal! Tell you what Captain Crash, send me the $80k, I'll ship you my '05 and then buy an '06. Shit! I'll have $65k left over to decorate the cave! :fuck: :p ;) :D

Let's all remember that we in California can't import 48 state bikes. But, I figure the value of those "leftover" '05s will drop as soon as the unveiling @ Alices is pictured and discussed and PDP program for the '06s gets underway.
