If I can't get my Solo S2 fixed what other units are out there that would be a good alternative? Waterproof would be nice! My present system runs through my StarCom digital and is switch powered off the bikes power dist. box. I looked online at Adaptiv's TPX, not too expensive and they claim waterproof? Suggestions! Thanks

I use the Escort Passport 8500 X-50 and get alarms through the Autocom. The unit is not waterproof, but it sits on a mount with Velcro, so I guess if it rained, I'd just put it in a pocket.. To me, the quality of the unit in terms of early warning far exceeds any concern for being waterproof. The Escort and Valentine give you that early warning reliably, with minimal false alarms.

Your dead Solo S2 is worth $80 on the Trade-In program. Take a look at it and see if this makes sense.

Another member suggested using a kids shower cap over it when it rains. I was thinking a ziplock with a cut out for your velcro patch.

Just picked up an Escort 8500 X50 a couple weeks ago . . . best unit I've ever had in 20 years . . .

Escort sells they're factory refurb items on EBAY which is where I picked mine up after reading the advice of forum member FredW
