I use it on my "winter and touring" (tall) windscreen. I think it helps in reducing buffeting.

I removed it from my "summer" (real short) screen because it restricts the airflow in the down position.

 
I have it also, have had it on several bikes in the past. It does increase the envelope behind the windshield. It is kind of expensive but it can be transfered from bike to bike.

I tried this stuff on my 81 CBX with Rifle shield. Witchcraft. I'd suggest you don't waste your money...

But then again some may be satisfied with the placebo effect.

 
If you want to try it, but can't afford it, there's an inexpensive alternative. Go to your local auto-parts store and buy a length of 1/4 inch hose. Air hose or fuel hose will work fine. Cut a slit in the hose along the length. Slip it over your windshield. Voila. Good for rat-bike points so may not be appropriate for FJRs.
