Wanna use my iPhone as a home theater remote

Question...mostly toward you home theater techno gatchet addicts like moi:

I no longer want to deal with multiple remotes, and the expense of fragile all in one remotes like my current 2ea Harmony Ones.

Is anyone in the know on using iPhones as remotes...

short question:

I want the system with controller/translater in center of room for all iPhones to use with nothing extra on phone but app/softw

are - and multiple phones work

I do know my current Logitech system with the Harmony Ones

(they have a system "Harmony Link",

plus heard of "Griffin Beacon", "Gear4" & "Peel Smart" )

long question:

perfect situation is each family member here has an iPhone within reach 90% of the time and can pull up an app and control multiple devices as well as have a group button to say "watch TV" which will switch the amp, TV, and cable box to the proper settings.

Since multiple iPhones would be remotes, I don't want the systems with a necessary "dongle?" plugged into the phone which converts the phone signal to IR for the devices to receive.

I want the converter from wifi to IR separate in the room for all iPhones to use.
