Awhile back, I’d been up at Alice’s and seen the CanAm Spyder. Had always thought it was a pretty cool looking machine and, from what I’d heard and read, was a pretty fun ride as well. On Saturday, I was headed to dinner in Pleasanton with my dear friends, Scott and Sue (who were also with me when my accident happened last year), and there just happened to be a CanAm dealer nearby in Livermore. So I thought I’d stop by and see what one of these things was like up close.

Scott came over for some moral support and when I asked if it was possible to take a test ride, the sales guy, Kregg, said you betcha! And I just happened to have my gear in the trunk of the car (hmmmm, wonder how that got in there? ;) ), so off we went. We stuck mostly to the streets around the area which were mostly industrial so not much traffic to deal with. It definitely handles differently, more like an ATV, and Scott was chuckling at me trying to lean on it through the turns! Lol It would definitely take a bit of getting used to but would be a good stepping stone to getting back out there with something a little more stable. Now I have to go find that change jar and see if there’s anything left after my purchase with RenoJohn… :D

ALRIGHT! Conrats on getting back on, Tyler. So, we'll have a three wheeler in the parking lot at the Ocean Trails Resort on Victoria Island, then?

Tyler, I also have ridden the Spyder. Great fun. But, for health reasons, & since wifey had stopped riding with me on the Feejer,I got myself a Goldwing Trike  . What a blast. Early in the game, did a good few miles of Santa Monica twisties with some 'oldtimers', expecting a boring, casual pace. Man was I wrong!! Once you get the hang of it (pull right to go right) you can really haul !@# !!!! Now every week end is 2-up time & 600-800 mile week ends are getting to be 'shorties'. Still ride the feejer (till I can) commuting to work & waiting on the nxt group ride. What I am trying to say, is don't let anyone try to sell the 3-wheelers short. All I say is, don't knock it till you've really tried it.

What a GREAT idea, Ty ! I took one for a little toot one day the Feej was being serviced. I can see where they could be a lot of fun

You GO girl !

I rode one and didn't think I liked it but if it floats your boat and gets you back out in the wind then it's a good thing. Good luck and vacations are what credit cards are for. Even if you default on the card they can't take the vacation away.  :clapping:

You get that damned thing Tyler! I love the look. It's hard to keep a good woman down, and you are a good woman. I hope it satisfies your riding itch. Can I take a spin around a parking lot if you get one?

Seriously, if it is feasible financially, everybody here will love to see you riding again. And imagine no worries about dropping the bike!
