ZUMO 550 won't charge on cycle mount

Yeah, checked the wire. I have it coiled in the front fork area and was able to trace the length of the wire from start to finish without any damaged wire... I have seen replacement cradles on ebay and such, but want do the easy trial before shelling out the money in case it is the unit...

ZUMO 550 won't charge on cycle mount

At the end of last season everything was working fine. However, when I put the Zumo on the cradle on the bike a few days ago... Nothing... It will charge when it's in the car cradle and all of the functions preform just fine. No locking or similar software bug type problems. I even reloaded...

    Park-n-Move

I also have one and agree, that once you've got it on the center stand, it works just like advertised. Great buy since you can use it for any bike. :clapping: To get it on the Park-n-move I used a couple of 3/4" boards to park both the back and front tires on, then positioned the center...

    Handgun on a bike

I carry my Glock 27 the same way I carry when I'm out and about. Mitch-Rosen inside the waste band holster. the only thing I do differently is I take the round out of the chamber. More for my own piece of mind than anything I guess as I have no fear of a round spontaneously going off just...

No front tire tread left after only 3k miles???

Thanks for the feedback. I knew that tires (brands, pressure, etc.) were a hot topic, I just didn't realize that which tires I wanted to run next would be a decision I had to make so early. :dribble: <_<

No front tire tread left after only 3k miles???

I picked up my brand new 2008 in April of this year. I have been living in a different state due to work so I haven't got to put many miles on it so far. I took it on my first big trip and noticed when I got there that my stock Bridgestone front tire has no tread left. I'm already...

Note to self: Double check those saddlebags! (DOH!)

+1 on the pins. :yahoo: It take a second to make sure that you're going to be able to line everything up correctly, but the peace of mind is worth the minimal time and cost for this upgrade even if you only ride with your bags on for the long trips!

    Fueling the FJR

That's a technique I'll try. It may help to give me a little more room between the fuel level and the botton of the filler neck. With mine, the tank seems to be able to take more fuel, but when I pull the trigger to start dispensing fuel, the fuel goes into the tank and the small holes start to...

    Fueling the FJR

When fueling my '08 I have to be careful to pay close attention not to get the fuel level above the bottom of the fuel port neck. With the way the holes are configured (one large and 3 small), if I get any higher than the bottom of the neck, gas is shot up through the smaller holes and litters...

OK you engineering and fluid dynamics types...

So the short answer is, yes the water pressure against the nozzel insreases as the jug fills. The air pressure felt by the nozzell remains almost constant. Detail: The one thing you need to watch out for is Mr. Newton (2nd law specifically). As the water level rises, OCfjr is correct that...

How many significant others ride their own bike?

Not mine. Says that she's perfectly content being the passenger. Says the same thing about flying. Doesn't even want to touch the controls... Now the avionics are a totally different thing!

    Haven't ridden in four months

I imagine that within the first 1 minute on the bike you'll say, wow I remember how to do this. Just remember that after you start to feel comfortable, never stop looking and thinking. This is pretty much the way you want to view it if it has been 5 minutes or 5 years since your last ride...

GPS, Worth the $$$ or not?

If you're unsure do a bit of research on the Garmin website, then go out and get the cheapest Garmin you can find. (They all have essentially the same function and interface.) If you use it, you'll quickly figure out what additional features you want. (Bluetooth, street names, traffic, etc.)...

    Time for a new jacket

I've had a Firstgear MeshTex for about 3 years now and probably have only rode a couple of times without it. It was about $130 and comes with a removable rain liner, removable shoulder, elbow and back armor. It's a ballistic poly mesh so it's completely breathable. I have worn it on the...
