Losing a side case. Is this just an urban legend?

Did the safety pin fix to my 2006 one month after I got it new. Very easy install and have no worries about a loose bag. Ordered it from McMaster- Karr but don’t remember the part number. That was 15 years ago and still running strong. 😁

    The stock seat

99.9 % of all stock factory seats are too soft and made of inferior cheap foam. Feels good sitting on one in the showroom or rare short test ride. Problem is the factory seat will almost always cause the dreaded "butt burn" after a few minutes and will leave one in pain to the point of agony and...

Just picked up my birthday surprise.....2017 ES!

Well happy happy birthday! At my age I was wanting to forget birthdays. But if my wife started buying me presents like that I could start getting my memory back real quick. Enjoy! p.m.

Riding jackets, which do you recommend?

Say what you will but I find myself wearing the Bohn gear for local rides in the heat. Cant beat the mesh system in any heat and 100+ days are common here. Never tested by me in a crash (knock on wood), but the protective pads do not move around at all and I could see them staying in a get-off...

2006 Altitude recall question on my new to me FJR

Mine was not as severe but similar to wannabes experience. Could be a safety issue imo while passing or could interrupt you or the bike at a critical time. I am not really in the know on ECU's but maybe one could have a newer or even your current ECU "flashed" and use in your current bike. Hope...

    Connector Maintenance

Great write up Don. I had forgot what really hides right under our nose. Lol. I've been thinking about a ground/connector service but time is scarce for much of anything around here lately. Good to see old Crazy8 again. Many more miles left.

    IMS show - pathetic

After working and attending these shows for numerous years it always seems like the show reflects how the economy is doing. Last eight years have been a down turn. Hopefully we'll see better years and shows ahead. Pm. ><>

    2007 With Low Miles Question

If the bike was stored inside a garage in good conditions that would be huge in my book. Only other thing I would be concerned was as mentioned the recalls done. This year like my 06 was also subject to the faulty ignition switch recall and the spider ground/corrosion electrical recall. I opted...

    Fork Oil Change Made Easier

Thanks to this great forum I have learned and performed many maintainence items that I would have never attempted on my own over the years. And thus have the personal satisfaction of knowing it was done right even if it was difficult to do at times. And not to mention the hundreds of dollars...

getting comfortable on this bike ain't easy - gen I

As most here know stock motorcycle seats suck, period. Made to feel good in the showroom made too soft that only offers up the dreaded butt burn after the first 50 miles. I ride in chronic pain from spinal arthritis and shouldn't even be on a bike. So the major item for comfort on any bike is...

    Trying to find my Pace

I've once heard some pro racers say they don't even ride on the street because of the danger. That stuck with me. On the street no runoff areas, no hay bales, no safety crew. When I started riding with the NorCal group Years ago I started making the mistake of trying to "keep up" with the group...
