    FJR Parking

And most ordinances have a clause that states that anything over 50cc is not allowed to be parked in a bike rack. Some police and parking enforcement staff are getting smarter about all of these requirements and will ticket a motorcycle, even when it's parked right next to a scooter, without...

When do you consider it to be to hot to ride?

I'm like most, I prefer to be comfortable. But as I do a daily commute on the FJR, which included a trip home to let the puppy out to wiz, there are times when putting the helmet and jacket on four times a day get's me thinking. NC required a helmet, but now that I'm in KS it not the law...

Just bought a 2008 with low miles

Well, as you might tell from my name (I am also known on other forums as Flickable), heavy handling is not something that you should experience for too long on the FJR. The Bin-O'-Facts used to have links to a lot of posts about ideal suspension settings, and it still lists them, it just...

    '06/'07 in Chapel Hill?

If it's a silver '07, it's probably me. I live in N. Raleigh, but my current project is in CH, so I drive that route every day. I try to ride all the time, so send a message or post up and we'll get together for a ride.

How is the FJR around town?

After doing the FREE Barbarian Jumper Modification to my 2007AE, riding around doing slow speed maneuvers changed to like it is supposed to be, and what I was used to on some of my other bikes, and not so jerky.

    Recall

My dealer ordered the harness. When it was in, I brought the bike back. I had it back two hours later.

    Road trip to Dallas

Besides North Carolina, you also should consider a route that can take you through the mountain portions of Western Maryland, West Virginia, Western Virginia, Eastern Tennessee and Northern Georgia. Of course, riding through all those areas can lead to you never getting to Texas :P If...

Road trip, OK to NC - Looking for Advice

Drew - If you're worried about the last day's trip, you can shave off some miles and time. Take Cherohala from Telico Plains, TN to Robbinsville, NC. Then get on Hwy 28 and take that to where it hits Hwy 74. Head towards Waynesville, then you should be set the rest of the way. Hwy 74 is...

Road trip, OK to NC - Looking for Advice

Well, my vote would have to be the top route. Nothing against GA and SC, but compared to running through TN and Western NC, they're pretty lame. I'd get to AR fast, then have some fun there, as they have some great roads too near the Oazark National Forest. Then, get through as much of East...

    New seat

How? With sore asses!! :P When you don't have options, you deal with it. Luckily, we have options. I also did a fly and drive. And I extended the return trip to make it more fun. So, even though I was excited about the new bike, and then excited to have the ability to take it to some...

    flexable boots

There are several "sport/street/touring" style boots out there. They won't offer as much protection as the larger and harder riding boots. But, if you want flexible and easy walking shoes/boots without having to change after arriving, they are a good option. I've used the Shift boots linked...

Dunlop RoadSmarts and Final Drive Oil

MD, Make sure you check the stamped date code on the tires. If they're really that hard, they could be old. That's not something you want to find out while driving. If you have never done this, it's a four digit code, like 1209. This would mean that the tires were manufactured during the...
