    loading FJR in a pickup

A little embarrassed I didn't mention to check/recheck your tiedowns. I've never had an issue with the ratchet straps in front but have snugged up the cam-lock straps just a tad. I've transported quite a few bikes in the back of the Avalanche though the FJR was the heaviest. My vacations...

    loading FJR in a pickup

Maybe I got lucky but I've hauled my FJR in my Avalanche. Took it from FL up to NC and back again. My experience is that there is more downward pressure on the front by ratcheting the Canyon Dancers down (not too tight, but enough to slightly compress the forks). I only used two more tiedowns...

    Speed Triple SE

Absolutely...the Speedy is one of the greatest bikes for sheer fun I've ever ridden. It'll be a long time before I ever get rid of mine. Best of luck to you!!

    Today was a good day!

Funny you should mention that, Geezer. I'm a cyclist myself and I normally wave at bicyclists as well. I often get waves back although they do look a bit confused. LOL Cheers, Joe

    Today was a good day!

Hey Dave, So glad to hear that. It just didn't seem to fit anything else you've written on this post or any others I've read. :) Hee-hee...and I too am suffering through the pollen-filled rarified air. It seems really bad this year (I'm just over on the east coast...not far from you at...

    Today was a good day!

So...you want to retract the friendly wave you gave to a few folks on two wheels because they were on scooters??? I'm glad I don't ride in the rarified air you seem to enjoy...LOL Perhaps I'm not getting the tone inflections as they are hard to convey on the net. But it sounds...

    Replacement Fairing - 86 NightHawk 700s guidance

Fantastic...that is great news. Of course you'll have to post pics for us once it's all back together.

    Replacement Fairing - 86 NightHawk 700s guidance

Wow...that stinks. Certainly no need to start the lecture on how one should never loan out this or that... I'd start looking at these places if I were you. I'm sure you'll get advice more specific to your needs. Clicky 1 or Clicky2 Best of luck and when you get everything fixed, post some...

    Pulled the trigger!!!!

Congrats on the AE and the sweet deal. It took me a few weeks to really wrap my arms around the whole auto-clutch, but I truly love mine now. I wish my Goldwing had the same set-up. I hope you enjoy many, many happy miles on it. Cheers, Joe

How old are you FJR riders?

45 and spend about 40% of the time riding 2-up with my g/f. I use the FeeJay as a commuter quite often, so that leads to the lower percentile of 2-up riding. Cheers, Joe

    FJR>C14>K1200GT>ST Comparison

Very nice write-up on the C14. I've spent limited time on a couple and came away with the same impression. The smoothness of the C14 is VERY impressive. I also found it a bit more comfortable than my FJR and my g/f preferred the pillion accomodations over the FJR by a LONG shot. It was also...

Sport Rider Editor in a serious crash

This is very sad news indeed. I, too, was hoping that the swelling was causing the lack of feeling. I'm simply at a loss for words. Our thoughts are with you, Andrew... :( I just read Troy's comments...it's wonderful to see Andrew in such great spirits.

    FRJ A OR AE?

Actually...no. This is one area the AE really surprised me. You can flick down 2 or 3 down shifts incredibly fast. Plus, the engagement is silky smooth as well. I've downshifted mid-corner with the bike pushed over pretty far and it was basically a "non-event". As far as the AE vs. the A...

swapped fjr for a connie ride

Interesting...my experience with the C14 was quite different, in regards to handling. Perhaps you didn't take the time to adjust the suspension for your size/riding style?? I rode one 2-up and it went right over when asked without "falling into" the turns. I came away quite impressed with the...

    Should I buy the AE?

Congrats on the AE. My only advice is to ride it awhile before passing final judgement. I was a little luke warm to mine after I purchased it. But after a few weeks, it really grew on me and now I love my AE. I still enjoy the "normal" clutches on my other bikes, but have really come to...

What's a reasonable price for left over 07 AE?

I'd think something around $11,000-11,500 out the door would be a fair price. I hesitate to say anything lower as I don't want to lower the value on my own. :) Cheers, Joe

    2009 FJR1300 info released!

Wow, I'm with you. I like that color combination. It adds a little bit of a sporty edge without being over the top. Cheers, Joe

    2009 FJR1300 info released!

That's what I was thinking. ;) Plus, the price increase does nothing but help my '07 retain some of its value. I'm not too crazy about the black wheels either. They might work better with a different colour but with the all black scheme, it seems like a bit much. Perhaps they are getting...

    99 Blackbird

Ding...ding...ding...ding. We have a winner. :D The Blackbird is a friggin' couch compared to a lot of bikes I ride/have ridden. Don't do push-ups on the clip-ons. ;) Gently squeeze the tank between your knees. I also ride with a bit of an "inverted cat stretch" in my back (pulling my...

    AE Walk Through.

Concur with everything Dale said with the exception of downshifting with the finger lever. Not only have I never had an issue, but I find the downshifts are smoother/quicker than the upshifts. Dale, what do you mean by the downshifts aren't "error-free"? :dntknw: Perhaps this is an issue...
