    Replacing Fork Seals and Bushings

And I made my own Damper Rod tool. I used an impact driver to loosen the bolt but then I made this to help hold the rod. From looking at the 'bolthead' on the top of the damper rod assembly, it looked to be about 27mm. Lucky me, that's the size of our axle nut. Took a piece of 1 inch PVC and...

    Replacing Fork Seals and Bushings

Thanks Gary, normally this would be hijacking, but it is a pretty cold thread...lol...I will get it back together and see how it went. But the tube worked great (i sanded and smoothed up the edge to prevent scratching), cost me 30 bucks to get it here in California. Ride a lot and well

    Replacing Fork Seals and Bushings

I know the post is a bit dated but I just did my front shocks. I wound up getting this to push the middle bushing into place. https://www.speedymetals.com/pc-4603-8371-2-od-x-049-wall-tube-6061-t6-aluminum.aspx My inner tubes measure 1.875 in Diameter. This tube is 1.902 ID and 2.0 OD. I...

    Throttle body sync/balanced cylinders

Okay, that was awesome. Took it for a ride today and the smoothness is AMAZING. Throttle response seems likes it is new. I rode without gloves and felt the smoothness at 4k, used to be quite a bit of vibration there. BY FAR, THE BEST TB SYNC I HAVE DONE...THANKS FRED

    Throttle body sync/balanced cylinders

Thank you Fred, just did your procedure and that worked great. I will get it out for a ride but it seems a lot smoother. I was not aware I could run the air screws all the way in and do any tuning at all, great bit of info there. I am sure it work on the Warrior as well, thanks again.

    Maintenance Schedule

I don' t think Yamaha will mind, but I could be wrong. I typed out the entire maintenance schedule directly from the service manual. It is a carbon copy of pages 3-1 and 3-2 (FJR13A version only). I did add a column to record wheel runout I thought it would be a better checklist to take to...

    Fender is gone.....

Finally did it. Removed the fender completely and relocated the license plate. I LIKE IT! I have to add a bead of RTV around my plate that fills the hole, but I am not sure how long it might be before I get told to move that plate.

    New Member from KY

Drummerboy, welcome and yes this bike is awesome. I have the 2007 and love it. I also have a 2005 Warrior and it is my favorite bike.....Which cruiser did you have? The FJR is a fast bike and that will become quite intoxicating...140 comes quick....... Be careful and enjoy, this forum should...

    Ignition fix

Whoa, I would definitely be up for getting together, then I could thank you in person for the relay design. When, where will the next ride be, I am in. It would be nice to see other FJR's.

    Ignition fix

Very good, I will probably leave mine in when I take the bike in for the recall. Thanks....

    Ignition fix

Brodie...you da' man!!!!!!!!!!! Just built and installed your modification. Your instructions were absolutely spot on. Easy to follow and articulate. This is a no brainer mod.... The law of electricity rules, allowing the key to ONLY excite the relay will clearly remove any overheating...

    FJRF003.1: Ignition Switch

I have read this post........lol.. Got my notice today and just wanted to send kudos to the forum, you guys seemed to have made this happen. I have already gotten the parts for the relay mod I saw on this forum by Brodie (great stuff by BTW). I was staging to do that as well as take the...

    Hi Way Pegs Finished

Boy, the Wild Bills mount to the engine, not sure that is a good idea....I would worry about dropping the bike and eating the case it is connected to. I think mine will allow the plastic to be somewhat protected but I don't think the engine case would suffer. That would certainly be my choice.....

    Hi Way Pegs Finished

To keep my foot from sliding off, I have some anti skid material (that sticky back sandpaper stuff you find on boat steps). I cut a few small circles and they have a lot of traction to keep my foot on them. I will have to take some better pictures and post them up.....

    Hi Way Pegs Finished

Hey hey....so far they are staying up just fine. I have not assaulted any twisties yet, but soon. They are held by 25 lbs of magnetic force. I have 35 force magnets if I need a little more. Once they are fully road tested, I will report back with results. As to making more sets, I am 5'7"...

    Hi Way Pegs Finished

No offense taken....When I ask a question, especially on what my mind comes up with, I want honest answers....good on ya....They seem like they will work fine for me and the length is just enough to be able to comfortably get my foot to them. They flip down and out with a simple push from my...

    Hi Way Pegs Finished

Well I guess the consensus is you all don't like my pegs, oh well, they work for what I need them for. Thanks for the feedback.....

    Hi Way Pegs Finished

I am told I am a little anal....lol.......bike has 4000 miles and a year on it.....

    Hi Way Pegs Finished

Well sure, if I go down, they will scrape, but for the long haul, it is easy to flip them out and get some relief for my legs. I have had to work to a level of comfort on the bike. My left leg had all bones broken on my 1100 XS Special back in 80 and it takes a bit to make that long haul...
