WTB - Skyway Hydration System (new or used)

Quite by accident, I found that if there is NO bite valve, the water simply goes back into the thermos... just a few sucks and it's nice and cold. No taste of plastic, no hot water from sitting in the hose. I actually sit/lean on the hose, works fine. The tube will just fit inside enuf to sip...

Golf and baseball are also really good games... You can sit comfortably on the couch and play with just a flick of the wrist... There's a skill to playing Wii games without moving one's butt off the couch... Have fun! Mary

    Warm n Safe heat trollers

I've been using my Warm n Safe jacket liner for 5 years, no problem... also have the heated gloves. Only one controller, but since I seldom turn the Heat-troller over half + a bit, no problem. Higher than that, it's way too hot, even in near freezing temps. I keep the controller in my zipped up...

Wife gets my FJR a friend

Congrats to your wife! Hope she has a lot of fun with the bike. If she thinks the top box is too heavy, just use some sort of dufflebag. Us ladies never have enuf room for all the stuff we want to take. Yeah, we do have enuf room for all the stuff we need, it just takes a while to figure...

Newbie question - Which bike to get?

Just because no one else has suggested this yet... if you haven't ridden for a while, taking an Advanced Rider's course or even the regular MSF (Motorcycle Safety Foundation) course might be a good thing. Just to refresh your memory and there's always something new to learn. It also might be a...

Riding a Bit Over the Limit

Your "friend" is using most of his energy playing with the traffic...not paying attention to it....not good. If it were me he was following, I'd presume it was either a cop or a druggie... either pass or not. I would just keep slowing down until he got pissed off enuf to pass me. Sometimes I...

    FJR or HD Roadking

Try a Victory. They'll run rings around H-D's..<G> but they're not sport touring bikes, just cruisers... Long distances, the best H-D for touring would be a Road Glide... mary

    Washington State Boundary Ride Report

Well done.. except... Ok, it's too short! Really enjoyed it tho. I love reading rr's (ride reports) I always learn new stuff. My only time spent in Washington was 5 rained soaked boring days in Everett waiting for a plane back to Hawaii, we got back from our trip to Texas too soon... :(...

Honda spray polish and cleaner for windscreen??

Easiest way... just soak a fabric softener sheet with water, gently smear all over the shield and let sit a minute. Wash off with clean water. Easy to carry a few of them with you. I also use it to get the bugs off the paint and front lights... you might test it tho, the paint on the Harley...

    Cutting the stock shield

You sure did a good job with that... very professional. I just used a 2" hole saw and cut out 4 holes...<G> Worked fine. I still have a extra Cee Baily (+2+4, I think) from when I sold my bike. mary

    Schuberth C3 coming to US?

No exactly... my friend Ian (yes, he's British, lives there) did a 50 state ride in honor of a friend... he's got a Schuberth carbon fiber helmets. I don't think it even weighs one pound. When I picked it up, I dang near dropped it, like trying to pick up a balloon!! He says it's also very...

How aggressive can I get with saddlebags?

Why don't you just ask why he doesn't ride to work? <BG> After all his car doesn't have a turbo like the racecars do, etc, etc.... so he must not have enuf balls to drive a GOOD car, let alone ride a bike....! <BG> I'm sure you can figure out a daily comeback or two... :yahoo: Mary

    Thinking about heading to Colorado

Figure an average of 50 mph. to include gas, potty stops, eats, etc. this means riding around the speed limit or a touch faster. Out west can be faster, but don't count on it. 2500 / 2 = 1300 miles per day... 1300 / 50 mph = 26 hours = 3 days riding of about 8.5 hours per day. Get up, ride...
