Vanson Cobra is the cats Meow!

I just bought a Cobra (Mark 2) -- what a piece of gear! I cannot say enough. This thing fits like a glove-- although very heavy. If you are looking at buying one-- the only caution i would mention is that you would be best served to try on a few differnet ones-- i thought i was one size and...

    Problems getting the rotors off

You should be using an impact driver -- it snaps the the threadlock seal that is installed on those bolts.

    First Gear Denail 3/4 Jacket

I bought a Scirroco ( no longer made) , which was at the time a "step up : from the Kili-- but it never caught on because it was far too heavy to be considered an all-season. Additionally , its bulk takes some getting used to, and the vents do nothing. But I ride in sub-freezing, and this baby...

    Nova Scotia bound 8/3

Have a good trip. i live just outside Saint John , and if i was in town I would have liked to ride a mile or two with you. As it stands, i will be on MY FJR in Prince Edward Island, since this Monday is a National holiday. If you haven't been through this route before, you'll get a good taste...

An article to ponder for whiners

I find this board great. Years ago I was a regular poster on the newsgroup alt.rec.motorcycles. It was literally impossible for anyone to post a question or answer without 30% of the response being all-out assaults on the person posting -- and i mean the closest thin to death threats-- it was...

    Drag straps?

where'd you race ? Maitland? or Miramichi? I ran straps on my old dragger a couple years ago and found that maitland was too ripply at the end, causing for some "tense" moments on decel. And yes, regarding the tree; if you're not moving off the last amber, your dead in the hole. If you ever...

    North Conway was packed ....

Enjoy your trip, long range forecast looks good. There are a lot of v-twins, here now too. Thankfully the majority are driven fast (relatively speaking) and quiet..

    North Conway was packed ....

Its been a while since i spent any amount of time in New Hampshire, but after just getting home from a one week trip, I realized times have changed. I can count on one hand the number of sportbikes I saw-- and all but one had what sounded like stock exhaust. The open-piped V-twins were...

    ebay has good helmet deals

Also-- be careful of fakes -- there was a lot of ebay forum activity on fakes (both Shoei and Arai) just a year or so ago. I was always weary of that, and although I have bought an Arai on ebay, it was from a seller who was a real life arai dealer.

    just picked it up

Just out of curiosity, why did you leave BMW? Without incurring the wrath of others,,,, I looked seriously at the Rt prior to this purchase. The new 05 generation was a sweeeet ride (if under-powered by comaprison). The shield definitly was the best-- there was NO backpressure

    ..for those doing windshield surgery

....uhm...., Lexan is polycarbonate... see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lexan Also, we have done this on other stock shields, including yamahas, suzuki, honda, and BMW. We've also used it to clean up edges on other acrylics on boats and planes

    ..for those doing windshield surgery

about a month ago i ordered a new windshield from CB-- stock (because i only have a Yam touring). Anyway, when it finally arrived it was the wrong one -- +3/+1. So, since i have been intrigued by the recent "hole experiments", I decided to keep it and cut it down to size when I do the cutouts...

A good friend recently purchased a beautiful new GT, and has been racking up the miles like ..... well, like warchild.. anyway, on monday afternoon while travelling on a wet backroad, a deer came leaping across his path. He hit it in the chest just above the headlamp (from what he rememebers)...
