This is supposedly a subscription service but I'm using it as-is. I didn't sign up for anything.
ArcGIS has satellite imagery of the entire US at .3 meter resolution. Good for determining if that curvy road out in the boonies you see on a map is actually doable for the FJR. By comparison, much of Google Maps satellite view is low resolution for areas other than cities and their surroundings.

Zoom in (mouse wheel is quickest) and navigate to a specific location. Once you locate your area interest click the "Basemap" menu then chose the "Imagery With Labels" map.
Also, I recently purchased a KLR and some of the maps they have are very useful if you're looking for what's available off the beaten path. Among others, the "OpenStreetMap" layer shows more roads than I've seen on a map including many trails.
