Looking for leads on a brand new 2006 FJR. What would be considered a good price if any dealers still have them - either A or AE model?

Thank you

The 2006's were the last year of the PDP, so that dealers that have one sitting on the floor took a gamble and ordered one in their own name. Might be difficult to find a bargain on under these circumstances - when I bought my '06 I found an '05 on a showroom floor for $500 more!

As a point of reference, $11500 out the door was considered a good price last year.

That's what I was looking for, cause I really wasn't diggin' the black cherry at first. I remember my dealer saying the closest ones to me were in Kentucky, Ohio, and New Mexico I believe...so there are a few still out there...if your willing to go get them...

Wouldn't there be some warranty issues involving the date the initial warranty took effect on the pdp bikes? In theory you might buy a new bike and it will not have any factory warranty left.

Not sure if it is still there, but the Yamaha shop in Mobile Alabama had an O6 back in April/May. Not sure what kind of deal they will give you. You can find them easy on the net. Jesse

The warranty starts when the bike is sold to a private party.

But if the dealer ordered it through the PDP then as far as Yamaha is concerned it is sold to a private party. The dealer must have ordered it in their name, UNLESS it is one of the bikes that was bought in August when Yamaha opened up the sales to dealers.

Thanks for all of the info.

---No, only considering new at this point. I was just looking for a balllpark in comparing new '06 to new '07.

"Erm, maybe if you were 'aeiou', we could help."

"I would like to buy a consonant and solve the puzzle, please"

---Vowels from my name: First name is Daniel; drop the consonants and you get AIE....

Thanks again,

Daniel

Yes and no.

Under the PDP, Yamaha started the clock ticking on the warranty when the dealer received the bike. And the name Yamaha has as the original owner of the bike is the (fictitious?) name provided by the dealer.

But, a call to (800) 962-7926 - Customer Relations at Yamaha Motor Corporation, USA can straighten that out. A product specialist will change the start date of the original factory warranty to the date of (retail) purchase. Of course the product specialist contacts the dealer to confirm what happened, but the customer will get the full warranty and the time necessary (one full year from date of purchase) to purchase the Y.E.S. if desired.

I have a lead on a 2006 AE with 275 miles that is going for $12,500, with 6 months left on the factory warranty. PM me if there is any interest.

Funny, I just left there. The best price they could give (or so they said) was $13,200 OTD. I think that is still a bit steep. Thoughts? I was close to pulling the trigger but I'm a bit worried it's too much.
