Electronics (GPS) and Vibration on Bike

Very good point. Mine never even gets warm, so I didn't even consider that.

I have had a chance to take a couple of long runs with the new GPS unit at its new mounting location. The vibration compared to the previous location on the reservoir mount is almost non-existent. I also went with the short arm that came with the new unit instead of the longer rotating arm I needed when using the reservoir mount. That may be reducing the vibration even more. Hopefully I never have to revisit this issue!
