Your two poll questions are kinda redundant... now maybe if you added more than 1 choice for each brand like Scala G4 or even the Q2Pro (especially for price watchers).

Anywhooo, this has been hashed out quite a bit on my other sites so why not here I guess? I run the SRC (made by Scala) installed within the C3-Pro, can B/B pair with any Scala rider system quite easily. I upgraded to Bose ultra driver/speakers. Beyond awesome sound, my price is also way up there :(

I have friends with both systems you mentioned. Both have pluses and minuses, let the rant roll on....

Top Speed,

Kinda figured. It's been a while since I've visited this page as my hobbies took a detour last year. Nevertheless, since I'm looking to upgrade my comm system sometime this year, I wanted to try and get a quick low-down on what this community is using, what problems they have experienced and what they might opt for next time they make a purchase.

As a note, I've been using Autocomm for the last 6-7 years, but it seems that BT systems have improved enough to finally cut the proverbial chord.

Understand, all the Com systems to date will be a much better experience than what you've had in the past. I'm on my 3rd Com system, each one better than the last.

So The Sena 10 is not nearly as expensive as the Scala G9, kinda like apples to oranges. The G4 vs the Sena10 would be a much more equal match for discussion IMO.

I have probably a few more friends with the Sena SM10 (and they all like it pretty much!) but TBH the ones with the Scala Q2Pro (for $120) are very happy also. They say the sound quality is very good and easy to pair. I think I'm going to get this one for my G/F's helmet.

The one thing the Scala has that's sweet is the buddy Bike/Bike on the fly. You pair once w them and you are forever hooked up. You meet up a month later and within range you are talking to them automatically, that easy, that quick. With the Q2Pro and G4 you can have 3 conversations at once, the G9 I believe is 4. Some of my guys in big groups will pair (daisy chain) so everybody is basically connected by the chain. So the leader #1 will pair with #2, #2 pairs with #3, #3 with #4 and so on. It's a half ass way around it but you can relay messages all the way to the sweep.

You can do the same with the Sena. 4 way conversations bike-to-bike.
Of course you can, the on the fly part is what sets it apart from the Sena.
? My Sena re-pairs with my buddies Sena automatically after about a month. Just turn them on and bing! Your good to go.
Then your having way better luck than others I know, wish they had the success u have in multiple on the fly (re)connectivity and then I wouldn't hear all the bitching. Seems like the topic at almost every breakfast meet.

What can I say then, just lucky? Seriously, I didn't even know it was an issue. It just works.

Ditto. My Sena's been paired with my buddy's Sena ever since he got it and we only ride together once or twice a month, but when he comes into range, he's live and on air. No fiddling around with re-syncing since the first day. Additionally, I have the older SENA unit (with the barrel plug charger) while my buddy has the USB version...

No, Ur probably normal, they are not inclined with this modern stuff. Plus I think they just like to bitch n complain.

I use the Scala G4 and my only bitch has been with the FM radio portion. Other than that its been good. Last fall I had one set go bad. I sent both head set back and within a week everything was new except for my unit. Not bad customer service in my opinion either.

We know that a certain forum member does sell the Sena units. That may be a reason why the pole may be somewhat scued. nothing wrong with that but it may just be a factor.

Just bought the Sena sMH10-11 pair for a trip later in the Summer. No problem staying paired with the other unit even after two weeks apart. Also stays connected with phone no problem. Playing MP3's/iHeart from the phone works well too.

I've been using a G4 the last few years; only bitch being too low volume (I wear plugs). Thought I'd try the SMH10, since it was advertised as having better volume. POS didn't work right out of the box; I sent it back for a refund and stuck with the G4.

I am a fan of the Sena SMH10R despite mine not working at the moment. Dunno what happened - just stop working on Monday. Looks like I will get to test their warranty (2 years)

Most of the time with the Sena, if you just hit the reset button, it will fix whatever is going wrong. Sometimes they glitch. It's just the way it is...

I think the final tally will be that both the Sena10 and Cardo G4 are good units and quite comparable/equal. The G9 however does have a few more goodies and as I mentioned... a more expensive unit.
