Dave - What I've been looking for is a set of night photo's taken in the same location with the same camera on the same settings to get an apples to apples comparison of the light patterns and down range illumination. Many have provided pictures, but to get a true comparison, the shots need to be done at the same place / time / equipment(camera). This is something that should be put on the agenda for the regional meets...

That spreadsheet thing sounds like a good idea for you to put together - source of supply, advertised lumens, price, and links to photos...

That's O.K. some folks don't like my opinions either. But I do think your spot on Wayne. Now If someone wanted to take the time and effort to make a spreadsheet simular to what has been done with tires.

It would be nice to see some actual comparisons under the same conditions. Apples to Apples, $ to $. Something to think about at the next EOM or NAFO meet.

My LR4's came in tonight. Fast shipping Justin! One of them lit up the yard quite well off my car battery.

Now I'm thinking I want a pair of the Super mini's on the forks also. The controller is rated for a good bit more amps than all 4 will draw.
Gotta love priority mail :) . Got your PM and replied.

This is a good idea and would be cool if a 3rd party could to it. I'd be down to supply light samples myself, and purchase/supply a lux meter for the cause. Looks like you can get a pretty decent one for $50 or so - https://www.amazon.com/Mastech-MS6612-Digital-Meter-40-segment/dp/B0075ZS8VQ/ref=sr_1_2?s=hi&ie=UTF8&qid=1381887044&sr=1-2&keywords=lux+meter. If anyone is more familiar with Lux Meters and can recommend one in the $100 range, let me know.

Justin,

I just purchased a set of these and will let you know how they work out. Great price and thanks for the discount !!!!

Thanks, Dave

FYI Folks: I'm out of stock on the LR4's for a few days. New stock should be here Friday. Anyone named Dave that got an order in today will be shipped out today :)

Howdy folks - we just added the LR6 series LED spots to the web site. The LR6 series lights couple Cree XM-L T6 LEDs with large reflectors to throw a true long range spot pattern. The beam pattern on all LR6 models is 15 degrees. All LR6's have a far reaching beam, with much less near field glare than other LEDs.

LR61: https://ledrider.com/shop/?model_number=LR61

Model Number: LR61 Spot

1x Cree XML T6 LEDs

Large Reflector for Long Range Spot Beam

850+ Lumens

.85 Amps

10-30 Volts DC Input

IP67 Waterproof

100% Aluminum Housing

Thermal Protection

Shatter proof, Scratch Resistant Ultra Clear PMMA lens

CE Certified

50.5*50.5*80mm

Compatible with all PWM 12v LED Dimmers (Skene Etc)

LR61 and LR62 model lights can be joined together with included hardware.

This little light is a great bang for the buck at $40 each.

LR62: - https://ledrider.com/shop/?model_number=LR62

Model Number: LR62 Spot

2x Cree XML T6 LEDs

Large Reflectors for Long Range Spot Beam

15 Degree Beam

1500+ Lumens

1.2 Amps

10-30 Volts DC Input

IP67 Waterproof

100% Aluminum Housing

Thermal Protection

Shatter proof, Scratch Resistant Ultra Clear PMMA lens

CE Certified

110*91*61.5mm

Compatible with all PWM 12v LED Dimmers (Skene Etc)

LR61 and LR62 model lights can be joined together with included hardware.

I run the LR62 on my FJR endurance/rally bike, along with a set of the LR4 Floods. Like all lights in the LR6 series these throw a tights 15 degree spot way down range. The large reflectors also cut back on the near field glare with typical LED designs. Price: $55.00

LR64: https://ledrider.com/shop/?model_number=LR64

Model Number: LR64 Spot

4x Cree XML T6 LEDs

Large Reflectors for Long Range Spot Beam

15 Degree Beam

3400+ Lumens

2.4 Amps

10-30 Volts DC Input

IP67 Waterproof

100% Aluminum Housing

Thermal Protection

Shatter proof, Scratch Resistant Ultra Clear PMMA lens

CE Certified

110*120*92mm

Compatible with all PWM 12v LED Dimmers (Skene Etc)

Are you brave enough? If you're the kind of guy that would stick a 2.5 Lb HID on your bike, then this is the light for you. These lights are 4 inches square, and weigh in at 2 Lbs each. 4 huge reflectors focus the 3400 Lumens into a far reaching spot beam.

Well I worked all day on my mounting brackets. Another day or two and they should be done. Quite happy with the results so far.

Dave

What's the price on the LR 64? I'm thinking a swivel mount handlebar bracket and that light would make a great spot light for my four wheeler!

The LR64 is $80, before the FJR15 coupon. I don't know much about ATV's, do they have pretty decent stator output? The LR64 is going to pull 30 watts.

I assume these don't come with wiring harness , is that correct.

I'm thinking of buying the mini, running at 100% all the time. My thinking being , daytime I run main beams and want these for visibility, at night I need more than dipped , so these would provide that.

On your pixs you ran them at 15-20% so wondered if you could help me decide if I need a dimmer , with some input on these mini's specifically on he forks , so low down

Tia
