2010 Yamaha FJR Intro

Wow!, $20,199 for that new FJR. Looks like I better take very good care of my old one.

My complete speculation...
Last year for the FJR1300, period. They are reducing parts on hand.

There may be a new FJR type bike next year, but that's it for this model.

I'll check back in 365 days to see if yer right.

This is going to make for a tough decision. As much as I like the FJR (I like it a lot!), I'm not sure I want to invest in another that is the same is what I have. Yet I really want a new bike this year. I'm going to seriously consider the BMW K1300S. And the price increase on the FJR is putting it much closer to the BMW, especially considering that the BMW has some truly useful features available from the factory.

Tough choice ahead! DAMN you Yamaha!

As for the price which it is list. Without digging up my purchase price when I bought mine it isn't far off of it..... But you know how a memory can fool ya!

My thoughts exactly. I was waiting to see, but now it's looking like I may switch to the beemer next spring.

That seems likely, although they could just keep producing the A indefinitely since all the upfront costs are already covered. They produced the old VMax basically unchanged for 20 years.

By the way, another thing to consider is that it looks like the 10 won't be available until February. At that point, we are only 7 months from the '11s being introduced. I'd shoot myself if I buy a 10 in Feb-March and six months later they make significant changes.

Not to sway you back toward the FJR, but I'll bet you can get the 2010 from D&H for $1500-$2000 below Yamaha's MSRP of $15K and change. Then again, if Yammy DOES produce a whole new bike for 2011 (like we anticipate for the 2011 Wing), you'll be S.O.L.! How's that for muddying up the waters!

Does this exist on the '06-09 bikes and I just didn't notice?
Also -

Glove box contains a 12V outlet for phones, GPS units, electric vests, etc.

Wonder if that means they upgraded the fuse for that outlet?

Isn't the bike selling "decently" worldwide? I agree with above. The bike competes well with the C-14 and the ST1300, and Kawasaki and Honda aren't known for constantly updating their sport-tourers, so unless that happens your competition isn't forcing a newer generation. In this economy they could just ride out the model as is.

BMW came out with new stuff, but it's at a higher price-point with less dealerships....not that it's not worth it and all of that (I have no idea).

Yes. In theory, it opens and closes as the windshield raises and lowers (thus negating the need to cut holes in Gen II windshields which I still see people doing...).
