    Crush washer

So I just finished an oil and filter change on the FJR prior to my trip this next week to Kitty Hawk N.C. After I buttoned it up and ran it I realized I hadn't changed the crush washer on the drain plug. Just left the previous one on the bolt. Stupid me I had one on hand and everything. There...

    Roll on

It might not be popular here but I think my old 92 FJ1200 might have had more mid-range grunt than my 06 FJR. You never had to down shift even at 50 mph when passing. Great bike and a worthy predecesor to our beloved FJR.

    Rad cleaning

So I was out for a ride on the first warm day of the year, today and noticed the temp gauge was running a little warm 5-6 bars when it's usually at 4. Nothing serious but wondering why. When I got home I took a close look at the rad from the front and back sides. Man are those fins on my 06...

    Possible FJR paint job

I had a 92 FJ for 10 years prior to my 06 FJR. I still think it's a great looking bike with the purple and silver scheme. I'd love to see the FJR in those colours

Road Side Assistance Poll and Comments

I too have CAA plus and thought it was covered by AAA in the States. Used it once with a flat here in Ontario and it was great. Came with a flat bed and the driver was rider too, he had an R1 not some HOG type. Good experience all round.

    remember these ?

I had a 73 S2 (thats the 350) Fun little bike but no torque. Head wind or a hill and the best it would do was about 75 mph. Tail wind or no wind and 100 mph was easy. Hit 6 grand and the front wheel went skyward in 1st and 2nd. I sold it after a year or so and bought a car. Better gas miles...

Bolt missing after dealer installed Avons

Since this the ABS sensor, be careful about the bolt you use. I believe the sensor works on the magnetic field with the ring in the hub. Make sure you get the approriate material. Using a common ferrous (mild steel) bolt might confuse the ABS. It's probably stainless steel, I don't think it's...

    Aerostich Competitor?

I ave a Stich that I bought back in 99. Its cobalt blue with grey armour panels. Today I called because the pull fell off one of the zippers. Thought would have to purchase one of the repiar kits but the girl said they would send it out right away. Free! Great customer service on a garment I...

    Hawaii crusing made the news

I've looked at it again and I figure he tops it out in 4th gear. Counted the shifts. The banner on the screen hides the tach quite a bit during the run up . With the reduction in gearing might put it in that ball park.

    Hawaii crusing made the news

I know that the speedo says 150 mph but look at the difference in speed between him and the cars he's passing. No way he's going 90 mph faster. I think he's has it set in kilometers per hour then he would be doing a difference of about 50 miles per hour. I've passed cars on the road at that...

Picked up my 07 FJR yesterday and have a couple of questions

My 06 makes a chrip sound when starting occasionally. Not always but if I remember it's when it's cold. I haven't ridden it in almost 3 months as I live in the great white north. I doubt it's a problem and maybe it's just a bit of character.

    Toronto Owners

Sorry Moosehead but I don't have the same impression of Kelly's. I wouldn't go into the details as to why I'm pissed at them but suffice to say when it was time to buy my 06 FJR I went to Cycle City in Burlington even though Kelly's is 2 minutes from my house. I don't even buy parts there...

    Stabil Question

The question I have is does Stabil degrade over time? The bottle will treat more than one tank of gas on the FJR. Is it ok to use it up over several years? I was helping a friend who was winterizing his bike and his bottle was a quite old and had definetely separated out even though it had the...

    aerostich roadcrafter color

I too have a blue (with silver) Roadcrafter and love it. After 8 years and 75,000 miles it's the only thing I'll wear when riding. Shortcomings? Only a few. Zipper pulls seem to fall off occasionally. Minor problems with the pockets for the armour. It's Ok in hot weather. I use a wet cloth...

    '06 risers

OK so now I understand why Magnetic particle (Magnaflux) was dictated. Bolts would be mild steel. I wasn't thinking about the bolts. Yes, two doesn't seem like many failures but it were parachutes, well..... Proper torque is the best bet here. If it's been over torqued then replace them and...
