Gonna Change my FJR '06 Order

Was at Daytona Bike week and saw the '06's up close Very nice indeed but the Cerulean Silver of the AE model has a lavender/lilac hue to it that is, at least to me, a big turnoff. I wanted the auto-clutch model but the color is a turn-off. Has anyone else noticed this or am I going nuts. BTW...

FJR AE & Std Deliveries In Florida

 Jacksonville, FL (Northeast) dealer showing March/April delivery for standard FJR's, AE's still scheduled for May '06.

BMW Rushing to Beat '06 FJR?

Some serious talk from people who have an 'in' with BMW, and the latest rumor is that BMW may introduce the GT in March. I saw a marketing blurb on the BMW website re: the GT targeted specifically for the FJR market. Yamaha should be proud . . . the ST1300 was not mentioned. Feels to me like...

    FJR1300/AE vs BMW K1200GT ('06)

I have both the FJR1300AE and the BMW K1200GT on order. It's going to be a constest as to whcih one gets here first. Quite a few of the people on the BMW websites want to make comparisons among the FJR, BMW, and Honda ST1300. Others want to exclude the 1300 in the comparisons as they seem to...

    FJR Wet Clutch

One of the less than desirable features of the BMW cycles (opinion) prior to the new K12S/R is BMW's is the dry clutch. I thought the dry clutch went the way of the grist mill years ago. Although clutch problems don't seem to be a problem. What I find interesting is the electronic clutch...

    Fast

A husband was in big trouble when he forgot his wedding anniversary. His wife told him,"Tomorrow there better be something in the driveway for me that goes zero to 200 in 2 seconds flat." The next morning the wife found a small package in the driveway. She opened it and found a brand new...

Anyone Have Inside Scoop On Delivery?

Presume someone must have some inside scoop on the FJR1300 2006 delivery schedule. My dealer asserts that they know nothing (which I am sure is true), but someone must know something more. DOES THE MAY 2006 LOOK REAL? Or, does Yamaha usually beat/or exceed their published delivery schedule?

    What's This All About????

THIS SHOULD BE CLOSED OUT!!! NOT SO FUNNY! While viewing the thread "While We're On the Subject of Speed", scrolling through the replies, a program starts runing on my desktop: "Do I Give A Damn V1.1". The Windows XP/Pro timer shows the program running, but the "Task Manager" doesn't. ANYONE...

    FJR1300AE VS '06 BMW K1200GT

And while I expect to take some heat on this I am fortunate enough to have two wonderful motorcycles on order: The FJR1300AE and the BMW K1200GT. BMW's bike expected in March timeframe, haven't heard any news on Yamaha moving up the FJR earlier than May. Some interesting comparisons with...

    Power Points on FJR

Just curious if there are any 12VDC power points on the '05 operating under the assumption they (it) will be the same place on the '06. My BMW's use the PowerLet receptacles, wonder what Yamaha uses? Thanks in advance. Presume with all of the winter/cold weather riding some of you are using...

Do We All Have a Bit of Poseur in Us?

Allow me to open up with some training wheels that are now available on BMW's venerable K12LT. It's a brute heavy touring bike that some have difficulty handling so a company has come out with a la Gold Wing, a set of training wheels that lower and raise for low speed handling. I wouldn't be...

Are You Really A Poseur (Poser)"

    1. Do I clean my cycle after every ride? 2. Do rain and/or wet roads upset me? 3. Do I have a rain cover in any of my storage areas? Is it always there? 4. Do I take my bike to 'meets/breakfasts/etc.' and make sure it's sparkling when I get there? 5. When another biker comments on how clean...

    "Ride On" Tire Protection System

I purchased the "Ride-On" tire protection kit but have been leery of filling my tires with anything other than nitrogen or air. So, if you have used the system, some questions: 1. When new tires are put on must wheels/rims be cleaned with some sort of solvent. The mfg says no but am looking ofr...
