    No Front Brakes!

OK, verdict appears to be in. Front axle bearings. Metal shavings and galling of axle/bearing/collar on the left side. Yikes. Ordered new parts and should have apart and back together by the weekend. This should clear-up the brake issue as well as the wheel wobble. I'll update further as able...

    No Front Brakes!

Thanks for all the responses. I just finished up the drive home from Death Valley (bike on trailer). To answer some questions; I have had the bike about 3 years and have never changed the brake fluid. Which might lead me to believe that it has never been changed. Easy place to start. However, I...

    No Front Brakes!

I've searched not come up with anything. My bike is an 03 with just over 11k on the odometer. Yesterday, about 30 minutes into a ride, the front brakes went away. The lever started coming all the way to the grip. if I pump it a few times, it will come right back. At the same time, and this may...

Add me in! It will be my first group ride w/ anyone. May have the better half with me as well, however she can't seem to commit! I'd like to meet-up w/ anyone from my neck-of-the-neighborhood if possible.

May have bitten-off more than we could chew........

For mini vacation, flew Jet Blue ($49 one way) to Seattle. Monday - Took-in Angels/Mariners game (Angels won, yea)! Tuesday - Rented Electra-Glide from Eaglerider/Seattle (I know, Harley, but that's all they had), rode out to Snoqualmie falls. Got rained on like no other. Had great rain gear...

Heading North, so maybe not you! Definitely grey and blue! I rarely commute on my FJR as I carpool w/ my wife daily. Wish I could.

Rode By Me Today on the 405 North

at Brookhurst street about 4:30 Pm. I was on my way home from work when I noticed twin headlights w/ hard bags coming-up on me quickly. Didn't catch the year as I actually had to drive, however was blue and rider had on gray riding suit w/ blue helmet. Looked like a commuter for sure having much...

Finished-up Audiovox Cruise Control Install, Questions

Necessity is the mother of invention. Even though mine appears to be too loose, it still has a very positive return. Working great so far. Thanks for the insight however just in case I change my mind!

Finished-up Audiovox Cruise Control Install, Questions

I did use a check valve (Napa something or other). I also used Smitty's vacuum canister and recomendations for Gen 1 servo/vacuum canister placement. I'll test over the next few days, possibly adjust out some slack, and post-up the results.

Finished-up Audiovox Cruise Control Install, Questions

Just finished install and test ride. All works, I assume properly. I did not have an oportunity to really travel far from home traversing hills, ups, downs, etc. My initial observation is that the engagement is exteremly slow ( perhaps 1 - 2 seconds). This may be self inflicted as I did leave...

    "Therapy" Ride

P.S. Details of the ride (if you're in SoCal): Moorpark to 126, up the 5 (down the Grapevine), to 166 (Maricopa). Then turn right to 33, through Taft, up to the 58. Once you're out of Taft, it's really breath-taking! I mean, long sweeps, tight turns, grassy meadows that turn into trees, and back...

Newbie here, Question about 2 up riding...

Key turns to the right (just like ignition, seat lock, side bags, etc.)! Release won't pull if you don't turn the key (just like bike won't run, seat won't remove, side bags won't remove unless you turn key)! Which way does bag come off? You're kidding right? OK, if you're not, UP! Oh yea, in...
