    Oil on garage floor?

    Guys (and gals), I found what appears to be some kind of an oily substance next to the sidecase on my bike (2005). I haven't ridden it for about two weeks, but there was a puddle of something there before, but I couldn't tell what it was. I put some newspaper down and let it sit for about...

    I can't seem to get the black panel on under the tank on the left side. Is there a trick to this? All the hex bolt does is turn and turn and turn and turn and...well, you get the idea. I can't get it to thread. I have made dang sure that everything is lined up; I start slow, and try to...

    Why

    Why do I need to use dielectric grease or Vaseline on the terminals inside the Powerlet socket? Do I really need to do this, or are these instructions just for the do-it-yourself Powerlet socket makers? Will current still run through the socket if I do this? TIA... Jim

    Powerlet install

    (I posted this under Parts and Accessories but only got one response, so I thought I'd try here.) The instructions are confusing... to me anyway. To whit: Grab the socket end of the harness and start routing the harness by looping the wires down through the gap in the frame next to the...

    Powerlet Rearset Install

    Well, they are to me anyway. To whit: Grab the socket end of the harness and start routing the harness by looping the wires down through the gap in the frame next to the steering head. What does looping the wires mean? Lift up the rubber cover [E] on the engine side of the frame to receive...

    Starting after sitting

    Guys, My bike's been sittin' for quite some time (no, I'm not gonna say HOW long), but I'm kinda concerned about startin' this puppy when it's been so cold. It's been in the 20's and 30's here in NorCal, but I have the bike on a Battery Tender and have recently ordered a Powerlet rearset kit...

    Brrrap vs. Vroom

    Hope someone can help... I go out to my bike to start it up. Wheel it out of the garage, start it up, and start putting my gear on. I get everything on, I've got two bars on the temp gauge, so I figure I'm good to go. I raise the sidestand, give the throttle a blip, and it sounds like...

    Giving up

    Well, I have decided that I'm in over my head! I have looked at images, I have pulled up and out on the nose, I have double-checked inside the nose cowling for anything that might even possibly be related to taking the nose cowl off, but I can't for the life of me find it. Unless someone...

    Related to cowling removal;

    Okay, I don't know what's goin' on here. This is startin' to git EAR-uh-tate-in. I got the screws/fasteners undone/removed, but now I can't get anything past the nose. SOMEwhere in there is a screw or two that need to come out but I can't find them. On top of that, I can't find my dang 3/8"...

    Bulb, or something else?

    Anyone replaced one of thesse bad boys yet? I just noticed that the bulb doesn't light on my indicator, but the turn signal works, as does everything else: L/R turn signals, horn, high-low beam headlights, windshield retract, hazard lights, everything. (The bulb under the green plastic...

    Hello, again... Well, now I actually HAVE to fix something that quit working; to wit: My right turn signal indicator doesn't work anymore!!!! Yikes! I have NO desire to pull my front cowling off to (probably) re-seat the bulb, but I don't know what else it could be. Hazard lights work...
