    Volcano Ride II

GREAT RIDE! Thanks again to Snow Monkey and wife for letting me and my 2 buddies follow him up the hill! Can't wait for next year's ride, although next year I may be on a Connie 14. We'll see, the FJR is one damn fine ride. My buddy with the 05 VTX1800 is now looking at getting an FJR.

    Concours 14 VS FJR1300

Well I will be 49 in January so I hope I am not out of time yet, but I agree, I also would not buy a new bike every 1-2 years, as I did not even consider the FJR 06 models. However, after getting the ZX-14 I am thinking the ZG-14 is going to be special enough to make it worth it to me! I had my...

    Concours 14 VS FJR1300

Using the "average mileage/instantaneous" on the insterment panel it reads 34-36 mpg @ 70 MPH and 40-41 mpg @ 90 MPH. I have about 3500 miles on the bike and out of all the tanks of fuel I have checked I have never seen better than 37 MPG. I did a track day and REALY used a lot of fuel but that...

    Concours 14 VS FJR1300

As the proud owner of an 05 FJR and an 06 ZX-14 I must say IMHO the ZX has an incredible powerplant, handles great and I think has very good ergos. I'll have to see a ZG-14 person but I'm thinking there will be an 05 FJR for sale this summer. I just hope it eats less fuel than the ZX (34-36...

    ZX-14

I'm 5' 7" and the bike fits me great! The ZX12 was a little tall (30" inseam). Got my first track day on the ZX coming up! Can't wait, should be a real kick....I hope to hit the pin @ 186 MPH, I guess we'll see!

    ZX-14

Blue Zx-14....and it will melt the paint off my wifes 05 FJR.....and yours! I've read the ENDLESS forums about removing or not removing the secondary flys, and as of yet I have seen nothing dyno chart wise to make me want to do it. When my Akro full system and PC III arrive Im going to dyno it...

    ZX-14

I've had the ZX-14 for about 3 weeks now (2000 mi) and I love it! It's seems a little weak below 6000 RPM but when it hits you better be paying attention because it rips! It gets poor milage, about 34-36 MPG with a 5.8 gal tank, but it is comfortable to ride, looks great, handles great and flat...

    Rear Wheel HP

Had a chance to Dyno my 05 Fjr this weekend at a local shop having open house and free Dyno shoot out. I think I had the only Fjr there and got 122 rear wheel HP (with original spark plugs @ 8400 mi) The winner of the open class shootout was a Busa with a 4into2 Yoshi pipe and PC @ 168 HP A...

    ZX-14 info in Motorcyclist

The ZX14R is a sweet bike, I looked it over at the bike show in Seattle....but wait untill you get an insurance quote, you better be sitting down! The quote I got was about 3 times what I pay for the 05 FJR.

    It's A Ticking!

So how about the 06 models?!? Does anyone know if they changed anything on them? Yamaha should be making enough money on all the extended warrenties they are selling bacause of "excessive valve guide wear" fears, to fix more than a few of the tickers. :(

I went out riding with a friend who was using a Chatterbox intercom, we hit sporadic rain showers so he would keep stopping and taking it off and putting it back on. does anyone have any experience with the Chatterbox in the rain? It sure doesnt look very waterproof to me. :erm:

Does Anyone Make Color Matched Sliders?

Go to "Wild Hair Accessories" and look at "Matisse" sliders, they ere also no drill. When I ordered mine the ones on the web pictures were dark blue like the 05 model but when I got them they were about the same color as the blue anodizing on the non ABS front calipers (lighter). They said it...

    Gell Seat Covers

I went to the local Yamy dealer and they had nothing in stock to look at, but one of the sales guys had an "Airhawk" he showed me off his bike and raved about it, but at $170 a pop x 2 + tax I might as well spring for the Sargent or Russell. Although it would be cool to have an Airhawk to switch...
