2005 ABS question (front master cyl leak)

First I've searched around for the answers to the few questions I have; if found the answers, I wouldn't be asking them here. Since moving to Florida my Gen1 2005 ABS hasn't seen much use. I have recently found a group of riders where I live and have once again started riding on a more regular...

    '03 - '05 Bin O' Facts (Generation I)

Great post and info. Does anyone know what touchup paint matches (or comes close) to the silver used on the 2005 side covers. Yes I know it is silver, but silver comes in many shades. Thank you Tim

Fuel Pumps; Gen 1 vrs Gen 2

So will the actual pump and the filter attached to the end of it off the 2006+ pumps work with and in the 2005 housing? Anyone? Thanks, Tim

Fuel Pumps; Gen 1 vrs Gen 2

I didn't think so either; the part numbers between 2004/2005 and 2006 onward are different. I wasn't sure what changed, thank you for the reply. Tim

Fuel Pumps; Gen 1 vrs Gen 2

It looks like I'm going to need to replace my Gen 1 fuel pump. (anyone have one in excellent condition for sale?) My question is I know there are differences between the Gen 1 pumps and those in the Gen 2 bikes; can I run the Gen 2 pump in my Gen 1 or do I need to make some modifications...

    1.3 Gallon Gas Tank Reserve

I believe whether you use gas with ethanol or not is relevant to the 3rd question (total mileage per tank/MPG). I agree whether 100% gas is available or not isn't, Don't get me wrong, I'm not arguing, I agree with your point.

    1.3 Gallon Gas Tank Reserve

FYI Most states, including Florida, do sell ethanol-free gas (Pure 100% gasoline). In some areas it's referred to as Marine gas. The local Gate station by me (near Jacksonville, FL) has a separate pumping area for just ethanol-free gas. It has an octane rating of 89 and costs about 25-35 cents...

    Non E10 Stations by State

I'm not sure why the topic is locked (in Never Ending), and probably the pure-gas.org site has ben mentioned before, but here it is for reference if you can't find the topic elsewhere. Quite often non-e10 gas is called marine fuel with 89 or 90 oct rating. Seems to me it should be cheaper than...

    Sena SMH10 & Shoei Multitec

If the RF1000 uses the same padding as the Multitec, then more than just the cheek pads are removable. The pads (one on each side) that have the leather or vinyl on them also come out, they are not glued in (at least not in the Multitec). I think Cougar8000 will be able to show you what I mean...

    Sena SMH10 & Shoei Multitec

To be honest I'm not sure how you possibly could mount the unit with the fixed mic on the right side of the helmet, that is unless your mouth is on the backside of your head (LOL). In looking at the other mounts that are available mounting them on the wrong side is I guess possible. I got it...

    Sena SMH10 & Shoei Multitec

I'm trying to mount my new SMH10 on my Shoei Multitec helmet. The unit clamps on easy enough but the speaker wire for the left side isn't quite long enough to tuck behind the padding and then run up along the inside around and under the leather (or vinyl) padding that faces down towards your...

Dave, Plates arrived today; after I get all the plumbing off is there anything other than what the plates block off that will also need to be blocked off? TKS Tim (AKA Robert T)

What manufacture makes good batteries for FJR?

Anyone using the BikeMaster Trugel battery? Best price I could find is $92 inc shipping. Not sure it's worth it over the Mottobatt? Both have a 2 year warranty

Dave, I was hoping to make this trip, but some issues have come up here on the home front that just haven't gone away. Hopefully I can make the next one. Tim

    Mid-March Florida Ride

Dave, Thanks for setting this up and leading a very enjoyable ride. Got back to St Johns at 5:20 (with no further battery problems, guess it's time for a new one or least not letting the bike sit with the ignition on for more than 20 minutes; senior moment?. I can't complain to much it's been 5...

    Mid-March Florida Ride

Should be there around 11am. When I zoomed in on the map I saw a place called Brett's Motorsports at the triangle where SR19,SR44 & FL500A meet. Here's their address: 702 West Burleigh Boulevard, Tavares, FL 32778-2302 Never been there but sounds like a good place to meet. Let me know. Dave...

Dave, Based on leaving at 8:30 what time on the way north do you estimate you'll be coming through Tavares? Is there any place there to meet? Tim

    Mid-March Florida Ride

Dave, I live between St. Augustine & Jacksonville, I was planing on riding your route south as you are coming north and meet up with the group somewhere. For some reason I no longer can get the link for route to come up. It says it was modified 6 hours ago, but now the only thing I see is the...

Dave... Here is what Ray came up with for us: (Tim,) In doing some research inexpensive and clean sometimes just don't go together in Key West! BUT the Marriott courtyard seems good @ 239.00 a nite 2 bed 1 sleeper. La Concha on Duval St no rates. Now for the best, if I read your e-mail...
