Sporall - if you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay for your 2008 model? I have 2007 model with only 1300 miles that I'm thinking about putting up for sale.

Is this recall for the 5-speed or the newer 6-speed?

I'm struggling to verify whether this can be "hard wired" to the bike for power. On the site it says in the "in the box" comes the motorcycle power cable, which should work for it being wired to power when on the bike, right? I have my Zumo hard wired to my FJR's battery and it works fine...

Why would 2022 be the last year of the FJR? It this bike has obviously been selling well enough for Yamaha to keep the line going for 19 years, and they continue to make improvements on it, so why would they stop now?

Subjective of course, but IMO 'looks wise' the FJR puts the BMW to shame. I've owned a '05 FJR, and still own a '07 FJR with low miles. I considered upgrading to a 2022 FJR but with the exception of a few new bells and whistles, I'd be buying the same bike again. My next bike might be a new Wing.

The 2022 looks identical to the 2005 FJR had used to own, with the small exception of the badging on the side bags is slightly different. My '05 was one hell of a hot beast in the summer too! I sold it and bought an '07 which was much cooler to ride (and still own it).

I owned a 2005 FJR. Traded it in on a 2007 FJR only because the '05 gave off too much heat in the summers. Still have my '07. One nice thing about FJR's is, except for color and a few bells and whistles, they all pretty much look the same, so they never look old! :^))

Try a Gen-1 FJR in temps over 90. When you get back on your Gen-2 you'll think the A/C got turned on. :D SR-71

Nothing wrong with saving $$$, but I wouldn't let the difference of a few bux stand in my way of enjoying myself. It's tough trying to go ride a bank account. :)

That's one sorry saleman! Most every dealer has a computer hooked to the internet. He could have at least printed you out a FJR brouchure. If the sales team is that flaky, the service department probably isn't any better. I suggest just viewing the FJR there, then after make up your mind...
