Sold FJR, New BMW in the Stable

I can hide behind the windshield on my GSA and still minimal buffeting if any. In the full up position I get excellent protection imho. It also has "winglets" on both side of the screen that may be helping with the smooth air flow?? Combine that with hand guards and heated grips with heated...

Sold FJR, New BMW in the Stable

Thanks for all the good comments. I have been riding some in this very cold weather as of late and have a new love in my life :P The bike is so nimble and handles far better than I ever expected. Plenty of power and cruises nicely at 80 mph. I have been making some tracks in the dirt also...

Sold FJR, New BMW in the Stable

Haha Fred, I am 41 and feel every day of it  The suspension travel make this bike ride like a caddy on the slab and is quite impressive in the twisties also. I am going to hit some dirt roads this weekend for an intro to the slippery stuff. I think the whole FD failure thing is a bit...

Sold FJR, New BMW in the Stable

I finally got the FJR sold and delivered and wasted no time getting the bike I "plan" on keeping for years to come. The FJR is a fine machine, but the fun stopped when the pavement ended. I plan on touring a lot of remote northern Ontario this summer and this will fit the bill quite well...

    Check Engine Light

Comming homr today 2.5 hours into a 3.5 hour drive my check engine light came on for about 3 minutes and then went back off. Weather was drizzle and wet roadways. There was no indication that anythng was wrong with the bike at all except for the light. Bike is an 2005 with Muzzy exhaust and...

    Jett Battery Powered Vest

It was not faulty, just their design. They claim it may not be good for the heart to have the heat right there. It does keep the area around your kidneys nice and toasty though :) It was $179.20 usd per my cc statement shipped to my door.

    Jett Battery Powered Vest

I recieved my Jett vest this week and have to say I am quite happy with it. I ordered a size small per their chart, even though I was a little skeptical about it fitting my 6"2" 180lb frame. Much to my delight, it fits just right. The battery back is nice and small and fits inside the lower...

Thanks for the tips everybody. Going to head over to Lowes after work tomorrow and pick up some "supplies".

Fishing Rod Attachment to the FJR

I was thinking this may be my best option also. When I go I have the bags and trunk to use to somehow secure it upright I guess. I am not sure about having a 6' spear hanging off the rear end ready to impale (sp?) me if somebody taps it from the rear  Hmm, I am thinking duct tape and...

Fishing Rod Attachment to the FJR

I want to ride the scoot to my favorite rivers across the state and want to take one of my steelhead rods with me. Broken down, it is 6' long and I have no idea on how to secure it to my bike. Does anyone have a good idea or is there something I can buy to make this work? TIA

    aerostich roadcrafter suit owners

+1 on the Cycleport gear. I just recieved mine theis week and am very impressed with the fit and quality. I ordered the stretch kevlar overpants and mesh jacket, both with the waterproof liners. I road today into work without the liners as instucted for the first hour of riding. The temp was in...

    hesitation to ride

+1... I have had 2 incedents, 1 major that left me in casts for 18 months. I didn't get back on a scoot for 8 years. Once I did again I had a low speed get off and lots of road rash. After that last one I sold the bike and took another 18 month break. For me getting back on the bike means...
