    Vstream Sport screen on GenIII

From having owned over 5 shields on my 2 FJR's, if your only gripe is having to hunch a little in the rain, I'd stay with the stock screen. Overall I like the stock screen best except in cold weather.

    In-line Volume Control - Ipod

I use the apple optional in-ear phones and they work great in the helmet. The controller dangles just beneath the helmet line and I can adjust volume, pause, skip tracks forward and reverse, as well as make and receive phone calls at least on my iphone 4S. Damn good phones for ~$60. Good ear...

    Cee Bailey windsheild report

If you're a little taller than normal I've found you don't want too tall of a shield. I use the stock shield during the summer as it's almost always in the down position and it flows great like that. In the cold spring and fall here in MN I run a VStream. I also have a CB +2 stock width and...

    Michelin Pilot Road 3

I had PR2's on my Gen1, lasted about 6500 miles and it was toast with some belts showing on last ride. The PR3's on my Gen2 lasted much longer than any of the PR2s. It is still on my bike with decent tread on it and I believe I have 8k miles on it already. I think the longer gears on the Gen2...

Added Rifle tuning block to CB shield

I did washer spacers for a long time before getting my hands on a true Rifle tuning block and I'll tell you that the tuning block is much more effective. They both raise the bottom to let more air flow in but the tuning block moves the shield closer to you and it changes the angle much much...

    Holeshot Header and exhaust reviews?

The Muzzy system also has a crossover pipe between 2 and 3. With the Muzzy I also noticed a low-end torque loss. It did provide a noticeable topend increase - like very easy throttle only 1st gear wheelies on a Gen1 with its short gearing. Muzzy no longer makes the header though unless they...

    Michelin Pilot Road 3

damn, prices are going up on those PR3's. I'll probably go back to Conti Motions rather than pay $300 plus even though I like the PR3 set I have now. edit: Found them for $293.98 at sbtg

Installed Hyperpro Spring Set + New Rear Shock

Nice work. So you just swapped out front fork springs and put a hyperpro spring into an 08 shock? That cost you $500? Those springs must be some pricey mofos. A full set of 4 performance springs for my car was $200... these damn bikes are expensive! I've been wanting to replace the fork...

Gotta fix it now-lost low beam headlights

$60?? You should be good to go for about $10.

Pilot Road 2's Rear Tire Wear

I'm glad I ordered a new set of PR3s. Rear will be going on when they come in before trip. Front is still at 80%+ so I'll keep that one on. I wear out my rears in 5-6k here in MN/WI so I figure I'll get maybe half that in AR...

Pilot Road 2's Rear Tire Wear

Very true points, but you'll notice that others who ride similarly and similar road conditions get the same mileage. If you like to click through the gears and have fun in the twisties beyond a gingerly 'keep it in 5th' style cruise, there's no way you'll get anywhere near 10k out of a PR2...

Pilot Road 2's Rear Tire Wear

Thanks good info! Actually my front is a PR3 with 2k miles so it should be ok. I'm trailering down there with the other guys so luckily I don't have to put 1400 miles of slabbing on.

Pilot Road 2's Rear Tire Wear

I have 2500 miles on my PR2 and it is 50% wore down. Going to Arkansas for 4 days of twisites so at least I'll be using the sides more... a little nervous still.

    Upgrade to my service manual

I bought my manual off of craigslist from a guy who said it was 'original' and legit. I show up and it is 3 hole punched in a binder. Eh, for $30 I took it.

    CalSci Tinted Shorty

I happen to own that windshield as well as the tinted shorty. They have a variety but I have their +2" model. It is also an excellent screen. Flow in the down to 1/3 position is VERY nice and it is a bit smoother in the upper positions than the tinted shorty. However at 6'2 I am still too...

    2008 Fueling issue

Well, I guess you didn't exactly ruin the reputation of those of us in the AF. Just kidding. I also did the BJ Mod and went from 10 to 17 on all my cylinders after adding pipes and I didn't really notice any difference but I left it at 17. A bit smoother midrange response. I have to say that...
