It looks like this incredibly smooth, fast and comfy machine will have to be my last. Two major orthopedic surgeries in the last couple of years (both non-motorcycle related) and some stern words from my surgeon (who is also a friend) about the absolute need to never significantly injure my left shoulder again have forced me to make some tough decisions.

After owning three FJR1300s (this one, an '07 and an '05), IMO this one is certainly the best of the bunch. As many here already know, Generation 3 FJRs come standard with Electronic Cruise Control, Traction Control, ABS, Sport Mode and Touring Mode Throttle Select, Electric Windshield, 3-level Heated Grips, etc. The improvement in throttle response on the '13 (electronic, smooth and linear) vs the earlier models is noticeable.

This bike has a load of genuinely useful farkles-

-Penske 8983 "Double Clicker" rear shock (this is where almost half the upgrade $$ are, as it should be)

-Canyon engine cages and side case guards

-Custom seat built by Seth Laam in California (so much better than the stock seat in every way)

-Yamaha tall touring windscreen

-Highway pegs and mounts

-Kisan Pathblazer Headlight modulators (with ambient light sensor)

-Givi SR357 Topcase mount (the strong one that let's you realistically load stuff in the top case)

-Givi E55 Maxia 3 Top Case

-RAM ball with screw base for left mirror hole (phone mount not included)

-Battery trickle charge pigtail and accessory plug for heated riding gear

I also am including with the bike:
Yamaha printed factory service manual (a must-have)
Yamaha soft bag inserts for the side cases
Alaska sheepskin seat pad
Manta XL magnetic tank bag
Motorcycle cover

The original owner from whom I bought it via this forum in late summer 2014 is a middle-age government accountant in Ft. Worth whose garage was perhaps the most spotless and organized I've ever seen. I've always kept it in my garage unless on a ride. Changed oil (with full synthetic, motorcycle-specific) every 4,000 miles. It is due for a change in another 900 miles, (about the same time when I'd start looking at fresh tires too). I already have the oil and filter for the next change. I can either give that to you or change it here.

The Penske shock has about 4,000 miles on it and I lubricated the shock linkage when I installed it. Brake/clutch line fluids were changed last fall, front fork oil about a year ago. The only issue that I ever had with the bike was when the little micro switch on the front brake lever which got a bit sticky and caused a fault in the cruise control. Yamaha replaced the switch for me under warranty. Other than that, it has been flawless. It has never been down or crashed and starts/runs/rides like a new bike (actually rides better than new with the Penske shock).

Odometer is at 13,085. The Texas tags are good thru Nov 2018.

$8200 (no trades of course)

Once the FJR sells, I'll be listing my riding gear too- Aerostitch Roadcrafter 50L with hip and back protectors added. Shoei Neotec Large Yellow with Sena 3S-B Bluetooth headset. Olympia Airglide pants and jacket. Some other stuff too.

IMHO you certainly have that priced to sell quickly considering how well you have it set up.

I would say GLWS but I don't think you'll need it.

And sorry to hear about the ortho surgeries and your need to quit riding.

I forgot to add to the list of farkles: SW Motech mirror extenders and PIAA dual (high/low) Sport horns

Looks like the bike will be heading to the awesome roads of western NC in a couple of weeks via a fly & ride.

I think a Corvette should be in your future. They are fun too and A/C for those brutal summers in Tyler Tx. Get one with a clutch.

A solid suggestion to be sure. Right now at the top of my list of used 4-wheeled machines to take the place of the FJR in my life is another Japanese product - the Infinity G37 coupe. I had test-driven the G35 coupe many years ago and was quite impressed. I need to check and make sure it's got the room for my long legs. BMW 328s handle quite nicely too and fit me well, but can sometimes be scary expensive to keep on the road.
