And to think the words "FJR" nor "motorcycle" never appeared one single time in the body of any post.....prior to this one.
Take this political crap somewhere else! :angry2:
Boy...........I'm at a loss here. What does "Completely Off-topic Discussions" mean?

Off topic discussions but no political BS.

Simple. It means subjects that are non-FJR AND not political or against any other forum guideline. Just because a subject may be placed in this area doesn't mean it can ignore the guidelines.

Forum Guidelines

This forum is to discuss the Yamaha FJR1300 and the issues surrounding the FJR1300 community. You may liken this forum to your favorite corner tavern, where you can have a beer with your virtual buds, and discuss motorcycles in general, and the FJR in particular.

Here are the (very few) rules:

1. No porn or obvious "Not Work Safe" (NWS) material (though links to it are okay, if labeled NWS).

2. No religious/moral philosophy/political crap. There are countless forums/blogs on the web if you want to delve into these divisive topics. This is a motorcycle forum. That said, political discussions SPECIFICALLY about pending motorcycle legislation, regulation, and laws are allowable.

3. No politically-correct fucktards.

4. No ass-clowns in general.

5. No personal attacks. However, when some asshat desperately needs it for violating Rules 1-4, group dog-piles are perfectly acceptable.

6. Those who are easily offended should proceed with caution. Posts in this forum may or may not contain adult language/themes. No whiney-gash crying about them allowed. Deal with it.

7. Always remember that you are a GUEST in our virtual house. The Admins are your hosts. When you are a guest in someone''s house, don''t piss off the hosts. If you do, you''ll find your dumb ass on the sidelines, participating in a "read-only" mode for a period of 7 days. Repeat offenders fall under Rule #4, and will be booted permanently. If you try to re-register under another name after you have sent to the corner for a timeout, you are definitely toast.

These Guidelines may be periodically updated as needed. Refer to them periodically to determine if you can still handle the load.

8. Avatars should represent you in the FJR world and will be business safe. Signatures should be used in a way that does not overwhelm postings.

Oh, I have read the rules. I guess that maybe it is what is considered "Political BS" that I don't understand. Is a topic about "Drunken drivers and how to get them off the streets" considered Political BS? Maybe if someone would have said get drunken drivers off the streets to make it safer for FJR riders would have made it OK. Clue me in so I don't make the same mistake. :dntknw:

I wrote the word "bikes" (as in motorcycles) in one of my posts. Does that count?
Ooooh.....one passing reference to how you weren't riding a motorcycle. No Scooby Snack for you.

It's littered with them. A couple samples for you, tonight only.

The only justice was that all of the unlicensed/suspended drivers had their cars impounded plus driving citations. But frankly, I'd rather have them off the road than the government taking their money.

It's definitely a lot of political pressure and revenue.

Another reason to justify issuing 'advanced' level licenses.
All politics....related to guiding or influencing government policy and none of them "SPECIFICALLY about pending motorcycle legislation, regulation, and laws". And just adding the word "FJR" cutey-like in the sentence isn't going to pass muster either.

Then a little borderline personal cheap shot at a cop didn't help matters:

This based on your unbiased DUI funded experience no doubt....
Time to pull the plug on the thread. Or, would you have bounced the specific offenders for what was an increasing climate of divisiveness?

Anybody wants to start a new forum on politics....or whatever, feel free to PM me and I'll tell you where to get the software and ISP. You can be an administrator of your very own board and talk about whatever you want. You can even come over here and post a thread inviting people to go to that board.

Final option....if you're not sure what politics are...or the definition is not clear to you.....stick to FJRs and avoid Completely Off-Topic altogether.

Let's face it. The thread had turned into a ranting brawl and deserved to be closed regardless of political content. My smartassed baiting comments didn't help and I apologize for that but I'll stop short of admitting to a "borderline personal cheap shot at a cop". It was a valid point made in sarcastic fashion. Sorry. Won't happen again. I promise. :p

I love the smell of napalm in the morning.

I respect the decision to close the thread. However, having said that, it is my opinion that DUI drivers, just like cell phone soccer moms, ARE directly related to the safety of the motorcycling community, thus I sort of thought it would be one of the permissible topics.

As for the cheap shot at the cop, well, if I was the cop in question, then I didn't think it was that cheap a shot. I have opinions that are sometimes very strong willed. Thus, having someone ask about the motives, however sarcastic they may have been, isn't offensive to me but rather expected. If I can't back up those opinions with rational thought, I shouldn't be posting them in the first place.

Besides, the tracking device I set malfunctioned and will soon be up and running that will address that nay-sayer in due time! Muhahahaha!!!!!!!!!

Sheeesh.............Ignacio, You need to lighten up. It's a forum not a collage exam. It’s a place to visit, have fun and pass on information about common interest. If the "rules" are so ridged that this can no longer happen then "what is the point". :drinks:

My FJR is running good and I ride carefully

And don't forget to add no sports threads either

Here we go again :dribble:

CAN'T WE ALL JUST GET ALONG!!!! :glare:

MAYBE, we should put a Political section in this forum. Get in there and knock yourself out.

Politics and Religion....asking a woman her age....going into your mother's purse without permission.....all things we shouldn't do and shouldn't try to discuss on this forum.

My two-cents worth.

This is really simple, if the admin would take a moment to make a change.

The title of this section is clearly incorrect. When new people are constantly making 'mistakes', it's obviously a procedure problem not a people problem.

Change the title to an accurate one. It should be:

"Non religious/moral philosophy/political/motorcycle, Off-Topic"

NOT simply "Completely Off-Topic". Do that, problem solved, everyone is happy. Don't do that, nothing will change and those that constantly lock/delete/move threads because of it simply like doing so instead of solving the problem.

The rules are in place and have been thoroughly explained. They're not new. They're not even all that restrictive. Deal with it. Can't handle the load? Go to EZ board and see how long it takes before you get banned over there.

I think the next forum guideline should address people bitching about the forum guidelines.
