It's on the calendar. Will be a busy weekend of motorcycling. Which is perfect! (What else is there to do on a free weekend!?!?)

Not sure I will tackle a burger challenge- but definitely willing to watch someone else try!!! See y'all there....

I just emailed Rick (aka Chuck Norris) mine and Mike (the Wine Guys) plan.... Feel free to join us on the 2X-eat-n-ride, I guarantee you'll bust your gut... with laughter if not food!

Double-Dipper-RTE!

Here's our overview:

- Saturday Oct 10, meeting at Ellicottville Brewery (Ellicotteville NY) @4pm for an on-the-deck happy hour, followed by dinner. This Place Rocks!

Lodging is about 15mi away in Olean NY (Microtel). As of this writing, they have a few rooms left (lot's of leaf peepers this time of year)

- Sunday Oct 11, Ride down to Clearfield PA, I'll make a twisty/fun route from Olean to Clearfield. Note; It may not be very direct

Cattle call is 12noon at Denny's Beer Barrel Pub. Bring your appetite and camera.... yup, you've been warned!

I knew I could depend on you guys and gals to make this a great event! Can't make it, but would like some food porn pics and such. Have a great time. And KJ, don't eat too much Saturday so that "challenge" at Denny's is a success!

John

You got it John, I'll be mentally and physically (if thats possible ;) ) prepared for my burger challenge.

Pics?, oh heck yeah!... warning: It may not look purdy. JS'

What time do you plan KSU on Sunday morning? I might try to catch you guys there and roll with you to Denny's.

I have a fun 2.5hr ride planned into Clearfield. Yes, it should only take 1.5hrs from Olean, but we're going to take the scenic/fun route.

I will be there. I had my own route mapped out, sorta. But I think I'd be better off riding with you misfits.

**Weather update**

Looks like it's going to be partial-sun for both Sat & Sun. Hope this holds up, 5 days ago it was rain, so hold your breath!

**Schedule update**

We're still on for Ellicotteville Brewery for beverages and dinner Saturday. I previously said 4pm for meetup there, we could up it a little bit as some tips from friends say it will be very busy (packed) later and tables will be at a premium... well, if we wanna sit outside. Note; the temps are supposed to be in the mid to upper 50's, partially sunny. Sounds like sweatshirt weather to me. :)

......So, it was going to be 4pm, I can make 3:30 if you (Wine Guy and/or whomever is showing for the 1st of the 2 RTE's) wanna up the time some. Open for any slots.

Fall color should be close to max. So bring yur camera's.

Trevor will be riding from Erie to Marysville, OH for Tech Day on Saturday and back home to Pittsburgh on Sunday. You guys will be fine weather wise this weekend. Remember, it doesn't rain when Trevor rides.

You guys have a blast, don't get hit by any falling furniture ;)

Thanks Trevor for riding this weekend. I own you a Root Beer!

Friday: Rain (and it is doing so today)

Saturday: Partially Sunny, Mid to upper 50's [RTE 3:30pm; cocktail hr on the deck, then dinner 5:00ish; Ellicotteville (NY) Brewery]

Sunday: Partly Coudy; 75 [RTE 12noon; Denny's Beer Barrel Pub, Clearfield PA]

So for Saturday?, looks like great riding weather, less bugs w a jacket liner most likely.

Sunday? we may be stripping some layers, looks quite warm. Lots of bugs ;)

Sad the season is winding down, up here in the NE, it comes down quick, kinda like a window shade....

....so, let's ride, eat and repeat!

Weatherman has told no lies (this time)

Sunny blue skies and cooler, but what a dandy day for riding! Wine Guy PM'd me that he will be at EBC no later than 4pm, he's having a meetup with Laura & Mike (wnyfjr) at 'Niagara on the Lake' for their Anniversary. So happy Anni M&L!

Going off to pack :)

Me too, but I'm not even sure I want to see them. I got a text on the way home from Mel, saying that she made meatloaf and mashed potatoes for dinner. I almost lost my lunch. I can't even imagine how KJ felt. He's probably still in a food coma.

Pictures?? Oh yes, we have pictures! :)

At about noon on Sunday, 8 of us gathered in the parking lot greeted by the the wonderful smell of burgers in the air....

The sign says it all. KJ was pumped to do the 2 lb. Pub Challenge. Eat a 2 lb burger with all the fixings in under 1 hour.

IMG_5522.jpg

KJ, being the competitive guy he is, wanted someone to join him in the challenge. After a bit of pressure, LittleJon caved and decided to go for it too. When the burgers arrived at the table, regular patrons were coming over snapping pictures. These bad boys were HUGE!

IMG_5528.jpg

Made my Reuben burger with 1/2 lb. beef topped with smoked meat, Swiss cheese, sauerkraut and Thousand Island dressing look like a KID'S meal!

IMG_5523.jpg

More to come.......

With the timer set and started for 1 hour, the boys dove in.....

IMG_5534.jpg

IMG_5533.jpg

Strategies were discussed and executed. LittleJon chose to split the 2 lb. patty in half and using one piece of the bun, folding it over like a HUGE beef taco!

IMG_5539.jpg

KJ stuck to the tried and true method of eating his burger......well.....like a burger. Nobody said this was going to be pretty!

IMG_5536.jpg

With the clock ticking and loads of encouragement from our group and others, the lads continued stuffing their faces.......

With the first 1/2 hour and 1/2 burger under his belt (literally), LittleJon said enough is enough and threw in his napkin.

IMG_5537.jpg

Down to the last few bites and the last few minutes, KJ struggled with watery eyes and beads of sweat on his forehead. Look at that concentration! YOU CAN DO IT!

IMG_5540.jpg

Just under the hour, KJ finished his last bite. At this point, it looked like he was going to hurl and the people sitting across from him quickly backed away from the table! Keeping everything down, our table and other patrons cheered loudly as another person beat the 2 lb. Pub Challenge.

KJ got very quiet after this. With only a few words he said "no curvy roads after this - I just want to get home" Great job KJ and LittleJon.

I understand the 3 lb. burger challenge is on for next year??? :)
