SS-1000 check

The last week or so has been wonderful. I met up with my brother (Super Tenere) and his friend Eric (V-Star) and the 3 of us have been making our way around Lake Superior. The Minnesota side and Ontario side are fantastic. Hundreds of miles of great views. The Michigan and Wisconsin sides are ok but not in the same league. Pants you need you grab your camping gear and hiking shoes and make this loop.

That is not the reason for the post though. At the beginning of this journey I needed to get myself from Central Texas to Western Wisconsin. I thought it would be a great opportunity to attempt my first SS-1000. I keep the wheels turning with an average speed of 72 mph. It was actually easier than I thought. Thank you everyone that chimed in with tips. I am heading back to Texas on Friday. My dads house to my house measures at 1187. I think I will have a go at another SS-1000.

+1 on the gold run, and on the beauty of Minnesota/Ontario coasts of Superior. Great stuff - hope you made the time to take in Kakabeeka Falls.

Michigan (UP especially) and Wisconsin (Alphabet roads especially) are on the bucket list, for sure. It's a big bucket, though.

Hope you are enjoy some cooler temperatures up there. Boy - it sure is scorching hot down here, for sure.
