My 2006A will only start with the sidestand up and the bike in neutral. I was told by the dealer that the "starter interlock relay" was shot and needs to be replaced. Can someone smarter than I tell me if this is the right part? Its #4 in the schematic below.

Probably part# 21 on that drawing. Part# 4 is the starter motor relay. Since the starter motor works that indicates that relay is OK.

The part your tech is referring to is the "Relay Unit" which includes the starting circuit cut-off relay, the fuel pump relay, and some miscellaneous diodes. This relay unit is located just below/centered between the two headlights.

The clutch switch, the sidestand switch, and gear postion switch (neutral switch) all interact with the starting circuit cut-off relay and some miscellaneous diodes. I assume the tech thinks there is a problem with some of the diodes.
