Our trip to Nova Scotia began on May 26, 2007. We entered Nova Scotia from New Brunswick, not by ferry. We took two days to get there from here in Albany, New York. We wanted to share our trip with the following photos (everybody likes photos). We will post in four parts. Here goes.

Cool bridge in Maine.

Part two we head to Canso. Hope you liked.

Excellent. Looks like a lot of great scenery. What was the weather like? I imagine it was pretty chilly up there, even in may!

Beautiful!

That is next years vacation plan for me. Can't wait to see the rest.

Nova Scotia is another one of those places that beckons me. Thanks for sharing! That picture from Hal's Harbour is incredible, really fantastic shot that seems to give me the feeling of the place.

Excellent pics - being an equipment junkie I have to ask who makes the portable chairs? The Jetboil is an excellent invention.

Keithaba, yes the air was a little cool but there were no bugs to speak of, no packs of RVs nor harleys. We did camp a couple of times and their were no long lines at the showers or toilets. In fact, two of the campgrounds just opened the day we arrived.

We will start part 2 of 4 heading to Canso, NS. This is a short (3-5 minutes) ($5.00 for both bikes, I think)ferry across the bay to the main route to Canso. The other option was another hour and a half around the bay.

This is Seabreeze Campground, six miles North of Canso.....Spectacular site/sight.

Seabreeze Campground......sunset, just before we started the campfire.

Seabreeze Campground......morning view. I mean really, does it get better than this?

Route around Lake Bras d'Or.

A pull-off on the route around Lake Bras d'Or. Iris standing next to her FJR. Note who the mule is with his side bags on.

While standing at the pull-off area, we heard this churp sound behind us up on the hill. This area of Nova Scotia is known for Bald Eagles. We must have seen a couple of dozen that day. They are beautiful creatures.

After a late lunch, we were riding along and notice this guy.

Had to take a pic of this Lighthouse on Lake Bras d'Or.

The next part (part 3) we head to Cape Breton. Hope you enjoyed this part. I did....again. :)

Beautiful pictures. You two clearly stole all the sun, cause it wasn't like that a few weeks later.

Gawd dang it! That Santiago Calitrava character (Spanish architech/civil engineer), is definitely getting around!

Good ride report, I've always "dreamed" of a ride from CA. to Nova Scotia!

ps; Did the bridge sway at all, when you crossed it?

HEY! What's going on? We was robbed!! I was promised 4 parts to this trip!!!

gypsy

Easy gypsy, part 3 is coming up now. :)

Midlifefjr, The blue covers are not rainproof. We like puting them on at night to help keep the dew/dust off. And even in the daytime, when we can not see them, to keep the peeps from getting too nosey around the farkles (GPS, tranceivers, radar detectors, MP3 players etc.). Anyway, the covers are by e-z touring and they are called the "Traveler Cover". We purchased them from Sierra BMW Motorcycle, Sparks, NV. If you go to their website, lefthand column, click on covers. In 2004 we paid $76.00 each. Hope this helps.

Now for part 3 of 4. We will begin by taking a short ferry ride across the bay to Cape Breton.

1833981553_03144a1bcf_b.jpg

Now on Cape Breton Island, we ride along the Cabot trail.

1833985101_b34c68a15f_b.jpg

We are on our way to Meat Cove. But on the way we pass by a fishing village. Iris is digging for her camera to.

Some more spectacular views as we head counter clockwise on the Cabot Trail. Hi Iris.

We take a right turn to Meat Cove (Campground). About 4 miles of it is dirt road. Not to bad.

1834754170_389afa8c1a_b.jpg

Meat Cove is the furthest point Northeast in Nova Scotia. Iris takes in the views.

Another view at the Meat Cove Campground.

Back on the Cabot Trail heading to Skyline walkway trail.

1834823806_e6c7eb8024_b.jpg

We stopped for lunch and thought, hey, we haven't even seen a Moose yet. As we exited the diner, Iris noticed movement across the road in the trees. Yup you guessed it.....a moose. Iris just had to get a close-up.

That's it for part 3. Hope you enjoyed. The last part (4) we continue along the Cabot Trail, take a break and walk along the Skyline walkway trail. We will finish with a couple of photos in Bar Harbor.
