Just read this today. Sounds like the ground spider issue is forcing Yamaha to recall for you GEN II guys?

A stalling problem has prompted Yamaha to recall almost 9,900 motorcycles, according to a report filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
Yamaha told the safety agency the recall covers its 2006-9 FJR1300 supersport touring bikes.

“The ground joint connector of the wire harness could overheat and become deformed, possibly causing an intermittent ground wire connection,” the manufacturer said in a statement. The condition could cause the engine to stall.
