Ogdensburg is a good crossing.... stay the heck off 417 through Ottawa, no need to go there and way too busy..... I wouldn't do 60 either, stay south of there, more interesting (take 60 on the way home). Tom and Bill will come up with something good, and I'll chime in later.

Awesome, Billy!! Now that's what I'm talkin' about!!

[edit] Looks like the route didn't transcribe correctly on Googlemaps, but the GDB file looks good.

Thanks to everyone for all of the good tips. Avoiding Ottawa was my initial instinct.
We will probably overnight somewhere in northern NY and make it an easy two day ride, so we'll have more time to play along the way!

Bill's suppose to be at the bike show today so he may post up something for ya! eh?
Since Bill is at the bike show drinking beer, probably with Ray, it will just be drunken gibberish anyway eh!
Ray never made it so I had to drink twice as much. Here is a copy of the text message:

Ray - Major traffic issue. Stuck here over an hour. May just turn around and go home.
Me - Truck overturned and blocked 401 early this morning. You can't get here from there.

Ray - Pretty soon I won't get to go ANYwhere. Got to Milton headed home.

Me - Get Tom to pick you up tomorrow and you can both go nowhere.

Ray - Good idea.
The show wasn't a total loss. I did get to check out the stretch limo version of a Honda 50 Cub...

Chalk up another Amurican entry for the CFR (two actually, the 'boss' is coming along too!). Just registered and will be booking the room shortly. Only 4 hours from home, how could i pass it up? Now if they'll just grant me a passport, I'll be all set...

At the very least, do NOT follow Bungie through Ottawa.
Good advice this. But I'm not the guy who led us into an underground parking garage.

Just sayin'.
And then there was North Bay.... Just funnin' Steve We knew ya meant to do that.

One of the high points of that sweltering day

Lost in North Bay? ahhhh that's so sweet!
Took me a bit to figure out what the hell Bust was talking about. Now I 'bemember. Pathfinder, Extreme Marine and Bust were doing their Saddlesore around Lake Huron and I rode out to Elliot Lake to meet them. Got them 'fast' gas in Lively instead of detouring for 30 minutes 'in' to Sudbury. Then we stopped again for a top up and water break in North Bay. It was FUGGIN HOT that day! I'm still shocked they did that ride. I would've passed on it.

Anyway, if you've ever been to North Bay, their are no gas stations on the 'ring road' around the city. Lots of everything else, but no gas stations. The closest one is at the turn off at 17 & Hwy 11 North. But you have to go past it and do a U-turn to get to it. I just KNEW what those assholes were thinking when they saw me pull a U-ie!

As far as I know there is no ring road around North Bay.....
