    Heli Top Clamp Warning

I'm happy all the other installs went great. I did not post this as a bash to Heli as much as venting and to pass along a little info others might benefit from. I have used Heli for some other bikes and it has been top notch quality. It must have been Monday morning when it was processed. It...

    Heli Top Clamp Warning

Be VERY careful when installing the new top clamp from Heli. Apparently they dont clean out the sandbalsting residue from the tapped holes. I was installing the ignition switch screws with a 1/4 " ratchet, when about 1/2 way in it felt like grit on the screw then it bound up. TOTALLY siezed...

    MPG After PCIII install

Yep, The most I get now is 38 tops. This is hand calculated due to the fact that the ecu is not reading what is actually being injected and throws the avg and instant displays way off. I have the Wally smoothness map.

    Gas leak?

Thanks for the input so far. I will check the vent tube. I can't eat mexican food, but it is a good idea to for check that too! I have actually noticed it towards full tank on rides that start on cooler temps, @45 or so degrees. After it is hot, like when I get to work or home I smell it...

    Gas leak?

The past couple weeks when I shut down the bike and get off I have a very strong smell of gas. This did not happen last year or the beginning of this year. Has anyone had a fuel leak issue? I will be dropping it off on May 7. I am hoping to solve it and not need to get it to the dealer. I am...

Aux lighting - on forks or on mirrors?

I have the piaa 1100x lights mounted to the caliper, excellent foreground fill they help with cornering as well, and safety visibility is greatest when in a triangle. I have actually noticed less people pulling in front of me since I installed them.

    Top Box causing headshake?

Exactly, My tires are good, only 4700 miles on them. I never had it slap with my wife on the bike, so it just sort of makes me nervous that a empty box will cause this. As far as not removing my hands while in motion, while in theory is correct loose gloves cause bunching, and lack of feel. I...

    Top Box causing headshake?

I had a ass puckering moment this morning on my way to work. I let go of the bars to quickly tighten my gloves, as I do a couple times each ride, when the bike goes into a tank slapper. I have always had a small amount of headshake doing this but never a slapper. The only change in...

    Top box?

I sold my yamaha top box which is only 38 liters and got a givi e52 maxia. I am still waiting for the givi mount to arrive so I can't tell you more. This box is on two friends bikes that I travel with and it really holds more. It also has a wire rack on top for more room.

Mom always told me reading would come in handy

Well now, My wife would KILL me if she found a Terry Pratchett book under my bike! Besides if it were in the garage I would be reading it instead of doing tires. I'm glad you found the loose bolt before it bit you. Be sure to torque everything and use blue locktite at reassembly.
