I Though your bike was a BMW

I too have been asked if my FJR (blue) was a BMW. I think it's because they notice that sports-turing bikes have their own distictive size and shape, compaired other bikes. And BMW has been building STs longer than anyone else.

They are trying to keep me from getting to WFO

Here is a clasic from the moto dealer play book!! :angry2: I waited till this year to do the recalls on my 06. I figured there should be plenty of parts by now. So around the last week of June I call for an appointment. They won't order parts untill I bring the bike in, even though I...

    Bike Wash

Count me in. I hope these kids know what they are in for. Iam from just up the road in Spokane. And believe me, after only a couple of hrs of riding in this area the bug splatter will be awsome! Any concerns about water will be secondary.

    Corbin seat Purchase

I have a 29 in. inseam and got a Corbin for my 06. The seat is very comfortable, and I can just about flat-foot it now. You will find the reach to the foot pegs is a little short, but it is worth it to gain the extra control at stops, parking and backing up.

Installing All Balls Racing Tapered Steering Head Bearings

Great work! This is one for the " Bin O Facts" IMHO.

    Techwest

I just wanted to add my great big THANK YOU to everyone involved in putting on TECHWEST 07! Dan and his crew at Desert Valley Powersports really went all out to make this a remarkable event. The FJR community in the Northwest is truly lucky to have such a supportive dealership in our area...

    Bags or No Bags?

Bagless for me most of the time. A mag. tank bag is all I need for around town, and the twisty bits. I like the sportier look sans bags! BTW I have garnered a ticket in each configuration, so I don't place much faith in the bagtoten stelth concept.

    LV Cans on the way

johnB, I went with the 2/Bros. M-5s because they are larger, and should look better on a bike the size of the FJR (I have seen the M-2s on an FJR and they seemed too small to my eye). Otherwise the performance should be about the same. 2/bros. claims about a 3.5 hp increase with a 10.5 lb...

    LV Cans on the way

Thanks for the heads-up Borrec. I was bummed to find out that the exhaust group buy was cancelled before I could make up my mind and place an order. Then I saw your post, and decided to give them a try. You need to call and request a coupon code to get the best price, but it is worth it! I...

    Sticky Needles on an '06

I have had my speedometer stick a couple of times. Always just after start up. No problems with the tach. so far. I also have the 17 mpg problem. :(

    Hell's Canyon Ride

I came back from WFO-5 via hwy 95 through Hell's Canyon. I didn't have time to explore the area on that trip, but am shure you will find it worth the ride. I wouldn't mind a return trip my self. There is a lot of country out there I've yet to see. I might try to make it down there for the...

Sounds like a great ride! Count me in, if there is room for one more.

    CENTER STAND

Just one thing to add. It is much easier to learn the centerstand technique if you start off with a near empty gas tank. An extra 5 gal. of gas adds a lot of weight, and gives the bike a more top heavy feel.

    40 degrees and Raining!

Thats how it was when I picked up #211 yesterday. I waited all morning for the weather to break, but it never did. So we headed to the dealership at about 12:30. After an orientation and preflight, I was off, under clearing skies. Within a mile I was back under heavy showers. Between the...
