    Return of the Buzz

Not that it is really a help to you in this case, but the " visiting buzz " issue with my '05 has been the most perplexing issue I've ever experienced during ownership of nine different bikes. I've tried ALL the usual tricks to deal with the situation. Some days....it may actually last for...

    Sargent Seats

I'e got over 26,000 miles on my '05 Sargent seat. I've never had an uncomfortable moment on it. I seldom ride over 500 miles in one day. It looks as good as the day I got it. Terrific product.

    Sargent seats

I got the first seat Sargent made for the FJR......27,000 miles and close to three years later, the seat looks as good as new. I've never had an uncomfortable moment on it. Can't say enough good things about it.

    What a machine

I've got a Gen1 also.....been looking hard for the carbs and can't find them.

Where do new members get crash club cards

Damn, man, sorry to read of your get-off. That fookin " pea " gravel is what got me too. Damn shit....you can hardly see it. Like someone else mentioned, though, that whole road you were on looks highly suspect, in my book. I hope all works out well for you. I've got to admit.....I'm getting...

    FJR Forum

I am a huge fan of Subaru myself. I run a highly modified Forester for Solo II racing. But I've got to say, that new STI is just butt ugly.

    T-Rex

I found trying to ride the Can Am Spyder at any speed at all ( 60 - 70 MPH ) to be a frightening experience. I can't imagine taking this thing over 100 MPH. The big advantage to the T-Rex is, of course, you're sitting in a seat, strapped down, and using a steering wheel....as opposed to a handle...

    This Sucks So Bad!

Brother, I've tangled with "Ole Man Gravel " on more than one occassion. You don't beat him. Glad to hear you got off lightly as far as injuries go. I've got to admit, I'm starting to get a mild case of paranoria about all this crap on the roads that can put you down. A guy in my neighborhood...

How safe would you guys feel without your guns?

A number of years ago, I had to brandish a firearm to thwart a personal robbery. Fortunately for everyone, the robbers fled when I aimed my pistol at them. I was prepared to pull the trigger if I had to. I've had extensive training in firearms and I was, at the time , amazed at how calm I was...

    Guess who their collar bone?

HELL is about the best way to describe that body cast deal. It was in the middle of the summer. I couldn't take a shower....had to body wash from the waist down ( girlfriend had to do that for me ). You talk about STINK. Seven weeks of sweating in that thing produced odors from another world...

    Guess who their collar bone?

Man, I know what you're going through. I broke both of mine at the same time......dirt biking. The left one was a " greenstick " break., really just a serious fracture. The right one was like yours, only my bone came up through the skin. They put me in a body cast from about mid-chest to the...

Preparing to lose my best friend

I have three inside cats and two outside cats. The depth of bonding I form with these critters still amazes me. I lost the " love of my life " .....a Burmese that was 15 1/2 years old......about three years ago. Hardly a day goes by that I don't think about that animal and all the love and...

    Coveralls / Dickeys / Carhart

While multible layers of anything are better than nothing, I don't want to go sliding down the road with no more than you're talking about. I've been there, done that and it is absolutely no fun.

    Sad Loss

May you find peace and understanding through the Lord. I am deeply saddened to hear of your loss.

    We Lost a Friend

While I never met Andrew personally, I could tell, through his many posts and photos, that he was a sincere, sensitive, and warm person. I share others' sense of great loss at his passing.

Is there a neurologist in the house?

I should count my blessings. I've never had any kind of headache my entire life.....no hangover episodes, no nothing. I don't know how to relate to the experience of having pain in the head. Reading this thread, I don't think I want to find out.

    HELP!!!!

I spent about 30 minutes on one of these things. At any real speed, it's a very frightening experience. It's way too sensitive to steering input to be comfortable. I tried to take it up to 60 - 70 MPH on a good, straight road. A REAL WHITE-KNUCKLE EXPERIENCE. And, as many have noted, cornering...

    Bad news for me

I sure hope everything will work out for you. Even though I have an '05, I really appreciate all the effort you put into the issues with the '07 model. Good luck!!

    ARAITN Down! 10/27/07

I have personally witnessed this " big truck on the Snake " situation more times than I can remember. On one of the last occassions, two riders passed me and went on, out of my sight line. A couple of minutes later, I came upon the wreck scene involving them and an 18 wheeler. The truck was...

    Wal-Mart

The best way I've ever found to clean stuff like this off pipes is oven cleaner. Works like a charm.
