I made it back to NE Seattle in one dry piece behind all the road spray from the 80 mph cages........... Some of you guys asked for links or supplier names for some of my farkles.

The CASES are all supplied by Fuerte Case in San Diego. They're the Seahorse brand. Note that you can get them with locking latches like mine.

The waterproof backlit SPST pushbutton switches are made by OSLO Switch.

The little control box the switches go into is from Fry's in their electronic parts section. It's a cast aluminum box that's 1.5 x 1.5 x 1 (or there about). There's a tab riveted to one side so it can mount on the unused mirror hole.

Yes thank you Bryan, Great garage to accommodate all the bikes! Must have had at least half a dozen in different stages of accessorizing. It was nice meeting a bunch of the local riders. I got rain both on the way down and going back home but It was worth the trip!

Yes, I forgot to say thanks to Bryan. Great venue and great benchracing stories.

The case on the tail is the Seahorse SE-120. It's available with locking latches, and I'd spend the extra buxx for the chromed metal locks instead of the plastic ones. (I have both types on the bike).

I also wouldn't do this mod without fabbing a couple of brackets to stiffen/support the bottom of the fender. I just don't think the stock fender will support this case for 20K + miles without additional support. If you're really going to add the SE-120, I can do a little article on the brackets. Simple to build and rivet.

I got the 55W. I am not sure of the output difference, but more is better in the lighting arena IMHO. Yeah, looks like it is down to $70...hell for that price you should get 2! :yahoo:

Here is the link to the entire thread, but basically I found that about 50% of the time only one light would fire. It appears as though there is not enough power left over on the battery immediatly after the starter gets through with it to fire the HIDs consistantly. Adding that time delay realy in the mix (it is adjustible and i have mine set at about 10 seconds) gives that battery enough time to recover and fire the HIDs. Since I installed it I havent had any problems with firing the lights up.

Thanks Bryan for the being a great host. I may have been one of the whimps that chose to drive, but that doesn't mean the day wasn't expensive. After seeing all the Zumo 550's there, I had to come home and buy one. Been trying to figure out which one to get, but seeing all those made it easy. Can't wait for the darn weather to break and get some "spirited" riding in.

Now I know what the perfect shop looks like, big enough to hold at least 10 FJRs, a tire changer, a bike rack, plenty of pie and pizza, and twenty or so of the coolest FJR riders around.

I owe huge thanks to Bryan and Kevin for the tire changing!!! I actually don't think they let me do much of anything.

Passes were white outs both ways and chains required on the way home so I could justify trailering the bike; barely.

It was good to start putting faces to names and getting plenty of future ideas; bottle opener on the box behind the license plate is among the first!!

Thanks for the links 2WT. I will be getting that box behind the license plate this summer. Yes, I noticed the brackets and rivets after they were pointed out to me; it was the bottle opener that made me miss them. LOL I would be interested in an install write up, if you can find the time to share that great information.

Now it is off to GP suspensions for my new set up and good timing too since the right fork seal lost fluid down over the calipers. Thanks Kevin for spying that.
