The official website has 2015 details!!
Is anybody planning to attend? That is, besides me? (Looking at you, bowtie_brain.)
Did this last year as my first real long-distance ride. Despite eating a bellyful, the food isn't really the attraction here: it's the accumulation of so many bikers in the middle of nowhere. (Middle of nowhere = Stockton, AL, about 30 miles north of Mobile.)
Lots of Harleys and Gold Wings, to be sure, but a bunch of BMWs, Kawasakis, Yamahas, Triumphs, non-GW Hondas, Suzukis, Spyders, and customs. All kinds of riders, too: Sons of Anarchy in their leathers to sportbikers in their leathers.
This is Year 18, so it's been around. Last year's main parking lot at 10 am -- I was parked across the street at the gas station, which was already full with another 35-40 bikes:
Travel time (with gas stops) is about 5 hours from Atlanta. If it will encourage you to go, PM me and we can discuss sleeping in my spare bedroom, on my couch, or spreading a sleeping bag on my floor.
