27" inseam buying an FJR possibly

I'm 5ft 6. Have an 05. Can toe down on each side. Ended, putting in lowering links and stopped fork about an in. Can flat foot a side. Did same thing on my old klr. Klr was more work to swing a leg over but soft springs ended up about the same height.

Why online motorcycle forums (fora?) are dying, so claims this article

This guy has a few good points. Esp phones. However, there's gonna be times here in the near future where people will be forced to actually maintain and repair their rides. Other forms of media don't compare for that. So they may be back.

Any one else notice gas mileage has decreased significantly?

Phoenix is unique, we have challenges geographically that cause our emissions 'problems' to be higher than they should be. We're in a giant bowl, densely packed and high population. That being said our emissions problems have gotten better over the years, and I'm not sure that we need...

Do you have a long commute?

I spent most of the last 20 years commuting in Phx. Live on west-side commute to east side. I grew to hate it. Depends on how much you like or dislike sitting in traffic. If you job is stressing you out, will traffic stress you out also? I was only brave enough to commute on my bike a few...

Trailer build rev 2, possible production

Can you mount the lights on the wheel fenders, would that get them high enough?

Recommended "bar back" product not requiring line extensions?

I can't remember who made mine, it was a few years ago (Gen1). But my bar risers are adjustable for angle like an f-14's wings. Took some of the pressure off the outer part of my palm. 2 pieces stacked on top of each other w/ a pinch bolt that snugs up a collar on the bottom piece. Josh

    Rear fender lights from hell!

I'm not sure if it applied to zippers however traditionally buttons are 'backwards' for womens clothing...

    Face shield fog reduction

I have a Scorpion exo-700 and w/ the shield that came with it they have added some kind of anti-fog to it. Along w/ the breath guard I have been unable to cause fogging down to about freezing temps... There may be some better products designed for the snowmobile market though as I'm sure it's...

    gen 1 vs gen 2

I own a first gen ('05) and I would say there are trade off's on each - everyone mentions heat, but nobody has mentioned the first gens being 'tickers' or the second gens having key switch problems. Personally I'd rather have a ticker as it won't leave you on the side of the road.. You'll...

05' Do I really need a new fuel pump?

My original problem w/ the fuel pump was the return fitting leaking. The high-pressure fitting problem was a 'gotcha' from not getting the pump back together back right. Josh

Lowered bike needs a shorter center stand

I've lowered my bike about 3/4" and have not notice a whole lot of difference putting it on the center stand, are you giving it just a little bit of rearward roll when you step on the center stand? I have a bad back and am quite out of shape, but it seems to pop right up for me. Josh

05' Do I really need a new fuel pump?

I missed this post as I haven't been here in a couple of days. I just went through this same thing on my bike. the o-ring had hardened and any movement caused it to seep fuel. My o-ring had hardened to the point that the sides of it had taken on the shape of the space it was in (square). I...
