Right now I am "planning" on leaving on the 9th of Aug, and returning the 12th. Lots of riding in a short time frame, but should be fun. I am willing to linkup with anyone along the way...the more the merrier.

Welcome aboard Mojo. Still dont have my FJR, but soon. Otherwise I could comment on the 15 mph switchbacks...probably something in the owners manual? Or ask luvtoride. Richmond is a bit of a drive, but I do ride down that way from time to time. I'll post here next time I;m down that way...

I read Cycle World, Motorcyclists, RoadRider. As for subscriptions, I'm probably going to go with either Cycle World or RoadRider. Oh, and I read, cover to cover, every edition of American Motorcyclists (AMA's mag).

Holey cr@p! You're right. Here I was thinking I was on the 10th hole, about to tee off, but I could be on the 18th green....and not even know it???? I need to get out and ride more! I'm 47, and in looking for my "next" bike, the FJR wasnt even a "twinkle" in my eye. After looking at the 07...

Weather and unforseen commitments might prevent it...but I could be talked into riding along. That time of year...like the rest of the year, can be hit-or-miss with the weather. It is nice up there, even in December.
