First SW-FJR Meeting for me and the Wife

It'll be my first FJR rally, too. My wife is not too excited about motorcycles, but I think she may make the drive from Denver in the cage. I'm looking forward to meeting some of you fine folk. For now, I'm headed off to OR, MT, WY for the next week then on to the TOR rally in Paonia before...

    What was your best de-farkle?

I solved the problem by putting a couple bright surface mount LEDs (Clicky), one on each side, that are much brighter than the dim Gen II indicators. Hard to miss 'em now.

    What was your best de-farkle?

Kissan Signalminder. Sure, it would turn off the turn signals, but then you had to remember to hit the signal cancel button anyway before using your signals again the next time. They need to come up with another reminder to do that. Not.

Anyone doing Sipapu Bavarian Mountain Weekend the week before?

Believe me, I know all to well about the final drive issue. First hand experience, lets just say.

    Power Commander V

Makes sense. I should have known it was too good to be true. I'll have to check it soon the old fashioned way.

    Power Commander V

    Just PC5 for me.

    Power Commander V

I had already done the throttle spring unwind and the G2 throttle tube on my '07 before buying my PC5 from fuelmoto. I don't think either of those mods made much difference. The PC5, on the other hand, completely changed the bike for the better. To me it was like night and day. Much easier...

    Post your Russel seat pics

Here's a picture that might help. You have to use your imagination for the rear seat.

    Let's Roll

Good point. I've never done them that way in the past. Just looking for a new way. I'll try your suggestion.

    Let's Roll

I'm getting ready to head out on a shake down cruise in preperation for a much longer trip in July. This will give me a chance to thoroughly test out all the farkles that I put on last winter as well as have a better idea on how packing will go. Anyhow, here's how I will be packing for my 10...

    Sena SMH10 Intercom

Can any of the newest generation bluetooth communications systems use earphones instead of helmet speakers?

Anyone doing Sipapu Bavarian Mountain Weekend the week before?

I'll be hanging out at the nearby Sipapu BMW rally the weekend before and then spend some time in N. Arizona and S. Utah before returning for the FJR rally. Anyone with similar plans? I plan on camping most of the time, except during SW-FOG. Let me know, maybe we can hook up.

    Power commander III vs V

PC5 works great on my '07 with the fuel map pre-configured by fuelmoto.com. Plug and play.

    Give me a HAND!!!

I tried the Cramp Buster and I hated it. Seemed unsafe to me. Too easy to have unintended acceleration if the paddle is positioned high, and if positioned low then your wrists are too bent while riding. Never could find the correct position that was comfortable and seemed safe. Just my 2...

    Throttel Tamer??

It was a problem on my '07. The PC5 made a big difference. I'm not sure the G2 did anything noticable.

    Perfect setup - how?

QUOTE (Big-B @ May 11 2010, 07:13 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> ...Upgrading the suspension has done wonders for my bike... I think I will look into upgrading the suspension after this riding season is over. I've done enough over the previous winter and now it is time to stop spending money and...

    Perfect setup - how?

Not really sure. I haven't had it on that long. Frankly, it wouldn't matter to me. The benefits of having it would far out weigh any potential minor lowering of gas mileage.

    Mapsource waypoints

Select the route, right click on it and click on "Insert Route Section", now move the mouse to where you want the route to be redirected and click. Not quote grabing a route and dragging it, but close.

    Perfect setup - how?

I loved the ride of my '04 1150RT. I just hated the repair bills. I think I have finally got the FJR "dialed in". One of the best things I did was add a Power Commander 5 module. It really settled down the initial throttle twist, I mean, when you start giving it throttle coming out of a turn...

    Mapsource waypoints

Something that I recently learned, and I think it works, is that when you are shaping your route by inserting section, as you move the mouse along the intended road, a very small black box will appear when it locks on to a point on the road. Sometimes the box is white. White is your friend...
