8K mi., Y.E.S. through 04-29-19, Garmin Zumo, Yamaha cover, tool kit (never used), flat tire kit (never used), everything works perfectly, no modifications, no accidents, red side panels, OE silver ones included, Park-N-Move dolly included, recent tires, bike is in excellent/excellent condition...

The ES completely transforms the bike, I continue to be amazed at how awesome they are. Congrats & do some PR3's or PR4's at your first chance, they're a great improvement over the 'stones.

What are you running for tires? If they are Metzlers or any other subpar tire that has a center tread groove that 'waves' back & forth, the handlebars will follow this which will generate handlebar wobble.Switch to a tire that does not have a center wave tread & presto, handlebar wobble is gone.

Having owned 3 FJR's (an '05, '10 & '14ES), I find the premium of the ES to be well, well worth it. Tuning the suspension for the road conditions is a huge benefit. If you can't get your hands on an ES, and if you're not thrilled w/the A model, upgrading an A is certainly an option, in which...

Friends of mine that have Speed Triples, Multistradas, FZ1000's, 1200RT's & Hardleys have ridden my bike & they generally think of the FJR as too smooth, too quiet, too heavy, too big, too precise & almost boring. They generally don't realize how fast they're going until I point it out to them...

I'm 250 & @ nearly 6' tall, my X-GF was prolly 190. We only did a couple of 2-up rides but my '10 FJR was very, very far under-sprung for our combined weight. I haven't tested the ES w/a lady friend yet but I will say, my impression of the ES that it is sprung & damped with a definite bias...

The Yamaha oil filter 'wrench' fits perfectly on the end of the filter, it's not expensive & can save lots of frustration. I use a 6-point socket for the drain plugs, no risk of stripping the bolts.
