    2014 FJR1300ES / $12Kbo / 8,000mi / New Hampshire:

Is there such a thing as too decadent to have two in the garage? Heck-to-the-no! I, too, think this would make an excellent addition to Mr. Beam's garage. (And thanks for the pix, Alan!). If I can pass along some wisdom, it is this: Do not test drive a '16 Camaro SS.....................

    New 2015 FJR1300ES - First impressions

The ES completely transforms the bike, I continue to be amazed at how awesome they are. Congrats & do some PR3's or PR4's at your first chance, they're a great improvement over the 'stones.

    Gen 2 front end shake

What are you running for tires? If they are Metzlers or any other subpar tire that has a center tread groove that 'waves' back & forth, the handlebars will follow this which will generate handlebar wobble.Switch to a tire that does not have a center wave tread & presto, handlebar wobble is gone.

2014 FJR 'A' or 'ES'? decision time...

Having owned 3 FJR's (an '05, '10 & '14ES), I find the premium of the ES to be well, well worth it. Tuning the suspension for the road conditions is a huge benefit. If you can't get your hands on an ES, and if you're not thrilled w/the A model, upgrading an A is certainly an option, in which...

    Gonna Test Ride an FJR...

Friends of mine that have Speed Triples, Multistradas, FZ1000's, 1200RT's & Hardleys have ridden my bike & they generally think of the FJR as too smooth, too quiet, too heavy, too big, too precise & almost boring. They generally don't realize how fast they're going until I point it out to them...

Must Do Rides in the Northeast U.S. & Canada

Thanks for the suggestions, I check these listings often on 'that other' site. I did VT17 last Thurs. Great scenery & technical riding but the road surface was very, very, very rough. VT73 was in much better condition. Not on the list, but as an informational aside, VT105 out of Island Pond &...

    Bridgestone Battlax BT023 Tires w/only 680mi! - $80/both

I have no negative experiences w/the 'Stones, I was pleasantly surprised how good they were / are. I've had great luck w/Michelin PR3's & since the season's short, & the miles are precious, & I'm retentive & like the bike 'just so', I put PR4's on @ the break-in check-up. As an aside, I haven't...

    Bridgestone Battlax BT023 Tires w/only 680mi! - $80/both

These were std equipment on my FJR1300, new condition, very good traction, very good tread pattern that does not produce handlebar wobble or vibrations, these are designed for sport touring bikes but are also well suited for standard bikes, Revzilla puts these @ >$100ea., sizes are as...

2014A or ES: Heavy Suspension help before possible deposit

I'm 250 & @ nearly 6' tall, my X-GF was prolly 190. We only did a couple of 2-up rides but my '10 FJR was very, very far under-sprung for our combined weight. I haven't tested the ES w/a lady friend yet but I will say, my impression of the ES that it is sprung & damped with a definite bias...

    DIY 600 Service

The Yamaha oil filter 'wrench' fits perfectly on the end of the filter, it's not expensive & can save lots of frustration. I use a 6-point socket for the drain plugs, no risk of stripping the bolts.
