So I was putting my rear wheel back on the bike after having a new tire mounted. Lining up the rear brakes to the rotor a pad drops to the ground. How does that happen? Never had that happen before. A pain because then I had to open the caliper to get the pad back in correctly. Maybe I spread the pads TOO far apart to make sure it was easier to line the brakes with the rotor?? I've always did this in the past without a pad falling out.

Yep, I think you'll find that you simply overcompensated for the thickness of your brake rotor, and the fact that your brake pads must already be worn a certain amount meant there was more play there than you expected.

Happens to me once every year or so...

It's a special 2007 only 'feature'...

Well guess I've just been lucky. Been installing the rear wheel on an FJR for the last 8-10 years and NEVER has a rear pad fallen off.
