Anyone use anything like the following:

If you do, is it comfortable?

Best regards,

Shane
Shane, I use the Forcefield back protector by Tpro. It was the #1 pick in the UK Ride magazine last year. It is actually quite comfortable and feels a lot more substantial than what is supplied in a riding jacket.

Johnson leather in San Francisco are the US importer of Tpro. The have a link to the RiDE review of back protectors, but right now the link does not seem to be working? I have the pdf file and will send it to you if you pm me your email address. It has a lot of information on many different brands.

+1 on the Forcefield from TPro. It is very comfortable and provides good protection.

I was reading on WebBikeWorld that the TPRO Forcefield is the same as Joe Rocket's Speedmaster. Anyone know if this is true (see link below):

Quote from Webbikeworld re: TPro Forcefield vs. Bohn Monza Back Protectors

Conclusion

Any of these back protectors are probably 100% better than no back protector at all, although we can't comment on their ability to actually reduce trauma. For that, we have to trust the European PPE directives, because there is no standard for this type of equipment in the U.S.A.

After riding with these for several weeks on different types of motorcycles, with different types of clothing and in all sorts of weather, our consensus is that the TPro Forcefield is the most comfortable and least obtrusive back protector we've tried.

Shane Stump,

I have the Forcefield back protector because I found , at the time I ordered, that there were differences, including details of construction & sizes. Compare the two for yourself.
