I have some (pre)plans for anyone who wants to join us North-land folks! (that plan to attend EOM 9/22-925 in Wytheville VA.)

The funnel downwards for us Canadian/NYers will be as follows:
>> Meetup Weds 9/21 @ 9am (breakfast) Kennedy Street Cafe Bradford PA

NEW LOCATION!: Chef's 117 (117 Main St. Bradford PA). About a block to the east of Kennedy St Cafe

>> Weds nite 9/21; Super-8 Fairmont, WV (Clean, fairly new, nothing fancy and we can tip some in the lot.. and has a Cracker Barrel Rest. within walking distance)

>> Thurs 9/22 Wytheville VA. ETA is early afternoon for check-in, and oh yeah, something about a cocktail hour?.

My overall ride-in map is here w Kennedy Street Cafe as meetup -> Super-8 just south of Morgantown WV -> Ramada in Wytheville on Thurs

Plan your intersect accordingly.

Some lodging notes:
EOM Ramada was $59.99/nite +Txs
Super-8 in Fairmont WV was $52.00 + taxes (I reserved through Wyndham rewards site, used my AAA disc rate). You may get better!?

I know it's early as of this writing, but I'd get you ressies in. Both motels have cancellation/refund policies.

Cheers all, hope to see everyone for the SE-Ohio Ramble first, and that's now only 5 weeks away.

I just may meet up with you in Fairmont. As long as I can get the time off. It will be interesting to see who joins up with the Northern riders.

Just one comment on your route down. I understand you want to be in Bradford for breakfast but Interstate 86 is pretty choppy. I would suggest you take something a little smoother. JSNS

The rest seem great!

Mona and I may have to talk about meeting up with your crew in Fairmont. We're still in planning stages and have to see how vacation time pans out.

Tom, I believe most of that section of 86 has been freshly repaved within the last year or two.

What is your plan for returning?
Return is going to be a 1-dayer (work Monday am); so slab it I-81 on up to Williamspor, then to 15 (soon to be I-99 Corridor)

See you in SEO
Looking forward to seeing the new ride Joe, I know its going to be awesome! :)

Awesome Jeff, make it happen buddy!

Sweet!, I know Debbie would also like to see yuz-two again as well!. She brought up our after hour party one night in conversation, telling a story to our locals "they drink moonshine in the parking lot, then after hour parties in the room with party favors!" ...me; lmao, I intervened a bit and added "well, some of us anyways, not everyone is party animals in our group!" ....Good times buddy, and we are going to miss T.I.V. this year! :(

PS. I'll have party favors for EOM ;)

Thanks Tom. I appreciate those tips. Like who wants a barney rubble ride first thing in the AM right? As Joe mentioned, they did repave I-86 from the Salamaca Casino> to the east. I am pretty much stuck slabbing it in this stretch} I have to be at the Kennedy Street Meetup diner at 9am. Getting Debbie on the road by 6:30am will be tough enough. Without I-86, it would be 5:30am-ish. (and, I'd be good with this!).

Hope you're coming down! :)

Looks like a fun ride down. The extra distance for me always throws a kibosh on the meetups. We'll likely spend the night in Hamilton area. Then finish the rest of the ride down on the slab :/

Mind you.. Bradford is only about an hour past the border....

C'mon down Steve, you can makie the Bradford then from Hamilton. You can also hook up with Wine Guy in Niagara Falls for the ride to Bradford.

I am a maybe on this ride. Need to be careful at home when I bring it up since it will be the second bike outing of the season. To increase my chances I won't be able to do the Wednesday part of the ride, I'll have to slab it on Thur to WV. Even if I get a yes my boys sports schedules could trump all of this. I did book my room at the Ramada since their cancellation policy is 24 hours in advance. My fingers are crossed.

I'm not going to make EOM this year. I expect this to be a record setting mileage year, even without. My planned riding schedule this year is ridiculously awesome, and I consider it to be maxed out balancing work/family/riding. I will be attending SEOR, NAFO, and NERDS. I'd like to make CFO happen, but I'm not sure that I'll be able to.

And of course I plan on wnyfjr's tech day, a cruise to Clearfield PA, and probably as many other day/overnights I can fit in. Mel has a 2009 Buell Blast sitting in wait, and she's already scheduled for the Basic Rider Course at it's first offering in late May, so that will add on weekend rides too.

I have a whole year calendar pinned to the wall in my office. All of my planned rides are highlighted, so all I have to do is look up, and I smile. It's going to be an excellent riding year, but EOM isn't on my this year.

What...not going to make EOM? You're going to regret that decision.

This. I've missed 2014, and I regretted it until 2015. If there is one meet not to miss. EOM is it.
Fixed and agreed. ;)
Majicmaker is the one to convince me I should go, so last year me and my wife went. We were not disappointed, and had the best of times, even with all the rain. I finally got to meet Papa Chuy, and spend some one-on-one time with him helping him put a rear shelf in his BMW. That, and all of the new inmates I got to meet, that otherwise never would have, really added to the whole experience.

EOM is the only one I've done, so I can't speak for the other meets, but I'm sure they're fun also. Because EOM was my first one, and because of the great people we got to meet, EOM will have that special place in my mind and heart.

When Marie and I got back home, the first thing she said is "We've got to secure vacation time for next year's EOM, that was fun!".

So, we'll be there for 2016.

I made it in 2015, and had a great time. Also had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Stanley. I was reminded yesterday by my lovely wife-ish that we also have a wedding that weekend. So even if I had been considering, being home for the wedding would take priority. I am looking forward to seeing some of you again, and meeting more of you for the first time at the other meets that I will be attending.

Jon,

I know it's tough sometimes to make choices of which meets to attend. I also still have to wrk for a living. I have not missed a SEO Ramble, since attending my first one in 08. In 2014 I chose to attend NAFO in LaCrosse WI.and really missed not attending EOM that year, wich was the first time I missed it since the first one I attended in 2010. Enjoy whatever meets that you make it to this year.

See you in SEO next month,

Joe
